Saw a post, that mentioned that the cars up front were 2 of the 3 centennial cars. Not sure if everyone knew this or not, but this was ALL 3 of the centennial cars, VIN 001, 002, and 003. The heritage IS the blue car. This paint is actually it's 3 paint job, it has also been Tungsten as well, after Blue.

Fun info like this is why it is so great to have the GT team members on site for these events, as for the 1st 2 days, I thought they were just owners GT's up front, until Alex says look close, these are the centennial cars!! I even noticed the black SC, but thought it was just a turbo intake. The white one was open, and got a chance to really go through the inside and engine bay (with Mark and Alex) to see the evolutions, that happened before full production happened.

Great post Specracer!
I never knew the blue got repainted once not much less twice......Thanks for the info!

The Red One is the one used in the TV Commercial "The One". Mark McGowen(sorry if I spelled last name wrong) told me they stripped all of the good parts off of it and substituted odd parts. Then he found that Rod Millen was driving it up at Thunder Hill raceway for the TV commercial.

Cool things one can learn at a GT Rally.:banana

Yea that was pretty funny when we first saw that commercial with the red car. My Dad immediately said "Hey, that's Rodney driving that car! How'd he get that gig?" I replied with, "You can tell it's your brother by looking at his hand?" LOL, I guess my Dad knows his brother!

Its a shame you didn't get any of Rodneys driving genes !!!!!
Just kidding !
Couldn't help myself!

The stories the Gt members have are priceless. It was so cool listening to Mark talk about the 1,2,3, vin cars .Sitting in one was cool as he talked to me !!They all have really great stories /experiences.I have heard them from Alex , Tom ,Gene, Mark Fred, Rich Roback ,Rich and Dennis of the Gt guys and some others .Really worth hearing and fascinating! The cool thing is they all have unique and different tales to tell .What is so impressive is how passionate they all are about the GT.Very cool stuff for Gt nuts!
We must add this to our rally experience!!
Thank you Mark !!
