Not a shock, but all 4 Ford GTs will be racing at Le Mans in 2018

2 x BMW M8 GTE
2 x Chevrolet Corvette C7.R
3 x Ferrari 488 GTE Evo
4 x Ford GT
4 x Porsche 911 RSR

GTE AM - 13 cars

2 x AM Vantage
5 x Ferrari 488 GTE Evo
6 x Porsche 911 RSR

30 GT cars. Crowded field. Should be a decent race.

Wouldn't want to be Toyota. Competing against yourself in LMP1 with their history...boy could that be painful if something goes wrong.

As for LMP 1, bring on the Daytona prototypes from the US. Amazing that IMSA has managed to get 16 cars committed for the entire season.

Wouldn't want to be Toyota. Competing against yourself in LMP1 with their history...boy could that be painful if something goes wrong.

Even if they win, it will be considered a participation trophy. If they don't finish first, or not finish at all, it will be plastered all over the automotive press that a lower class won overall against the mighty Toyota. It will be pretty hard to make lemonade out of that lemon.

Yeah, I mean I feel like they would at least get some credit for sticking with it if they win, but a loss would be catastrophic. With 60 cars in the field, you're an optimist believing that 2 cars make it out alive unscathed IMO.

Agreed. Toyota only has everything to lose. Unfortunate all the others have opted out of LMP1.

Heavy irony if both Toyotas broke within sight of the finish line! Also bad if the LMP2 cars finish ahead of them. Both these things have happened befoe, so Toyota is taking a risk, I wish them well, they deserved to win last time
