2016 FORD GT Gallery

Just gonna throw this in here.

DBK, Cobrar, Kip Ewing and Scott Ahlman at Camilo's Designers Night party. Good night to celebrate the new GT revealed that morning.

HO - LEE - SHE - YIT !! I don't think it will race at LeMans, it will just time warp to the finish line. It has obviously come from another more advanced dimension.

One GREAT reason to live in the Detroit area :) Look forward to visiting his studio again sometime in the future.

DeYoung Properties about to open a Detroit office? Now that would be visionary! :lol

I wish! It would give me an excuse to be near you guys and the home of the GT!

Wow, that really is side by side seating, especially when compared with our cars!!!! That looks Lotus Exige snug.

Was there any thought to incorporating some front active aero? Most of the lower fascia is occupied by the grille and what I assume are the brake ducts along the sides. But there's a good deal of unused space between the two under the headlights.

Active stuff doesn't work with fia so probably not

The rear wing is active.

The rear wing is active.

And will have to be locked down and replaced with a fixed one that meets the almost three pages of the fia spec. That is unless the fia tosses the book

Yup, that's pretty much exactly the comparison. McLaren P1 bolsters just about touch in the shoulder area as well.

Introduction was introductory. Information on power, weight, complete aerodynamic package etc all to be disclosed down the road.

Just by way of explaining what goes into making a race car from a street car.....only the rear lights and chassis were carried over from the street Ford GT to become the Matech GT1 car. While they look broadly the same, they are very different. Expect the same with this new GT, IF they go racing with it.

Can't wait. :-)

Thinking the new GT will have more in common with its race version by looking at the suspension arrangement and engine choice.

Here are a few pix I took. Joe Hinrichs (VP of the Americas) is with the GT.

I also tried to get more underside shots, but not much visible.
