I'm running 19" fronts on my GT with 20" rears, but running 20" fronts on my Z06. It was a big mistake. Very harsh ride and I'd never do it again. You'll end up with almost no side profile on the GT with a 20" front...

GT rides very nicely with the 19" fronts.

Probably because I'd wager that there is virtually nobody that does. I think I've seen maybe 2 GT's with 20"-22" combo in 7 years. You're not going to get a lot of responses to this question.

yes this is true from what i understand there's no rear tire to support the 20-22 combo... i ordered new iforged on friday 19-20 but was thinking to change it to 20-20 but was told that i would not like the ride

I am also running the 20/20 combo with out any complaints. Also did it to my ZO6. As for the ride i guess i dont have that discerning of an ass to notice any differance. Come to think of it, I guess I dont recall " Weather or not the FGT rode like a caddie" was ever a concern of mine.

If you are interested in a specific brand of wheel, such as HRE, or ADV, for example they will have a record of every Ford GT that they have made a wheel for.

My HRE's in the picture are mounted up with 255/30/20 Michelin Pilot Sports
I also have a set Of ADV's with 285/25/20 Michelin Pilot Super Sports.

Now someone please correct me here but i was told to take the 285 divided by 25 and you get 11.4 Thats your sidewall in MM
So 255 divided by 30 gets you 8.5 I can not see or feel the differance between the two.

That is a great comparison picture with the 2 Tungsten GTs nose to nose. Now we can really compare the 19" to the 20".

Thanks Jay

I don't know how many GT's they have done, but I can tell you from first hand experience from ridding both that the difference is not noticeable. To me it has more to due with tire brand and width in front.

Don't go wide in the front and it will respond, steer and drive like stock!

The middle number (25 & 30) is the aspect ratio of the tire in percent. To get the sidewall height, you must multiply this ratio times the section width, then divide that number 100 (for percentage). The section width, in millimeters (255 & 285) is the widest point of its outer sidewall to the widest point of its inner sidewall when mounted and measured on a specified width wheel. This measurement is referred to as the tire's section width.

Thus, the sidewall height will be expressed in millimeters.

Stay with the 255/30/20 dont go more than 1/2" wider in the front rim from the factory size. Trust me

Do 285 fit on the fronts throughout the steering range and suspension travel?

I'm running 275's no rub, lowered 1.25", but this car never sees the track.

JAYGT...., have you run the 285/25/20? I have. Both on the street and on the track in Utah and I can tell you from experience that it worked perfectly.
