Well after looking for one of these for many months for the right condition and price, I finally found this out in Cali. It has completed it's trip out to MA.

For those not familiar, this is a run of only 300 cars (all red unfortunately, sorry Frank). Ford took a "standard" cobra and basically striped everything out (back seat, insulation, radio, AC), slaped in a fuel cell, recaro seats, BIG splitter, BIG wing, f-glass hood to allow for the huge intake manifold, side pipes, and a 400hp 4.6 motor, and sell it for the streets. weighs somewhere around 3400. All of this was done at the "factory". This car currently has 11xx miles, so not driven much in a decade. The hood is not shut all the way hence the super bad appearing panel fit. After seeing the toys "peak" got this week, this is pretty boring, but still cool to me.... :biggrin

Cool. :thumbsup I love the hood on these cars..

Nice car. The local Ford dealer was selling one of these. He had it listed way above MSRP for a long time, but they were doing that with all of there cars.

nice car:thumbsup I have seen them at the track, dont they have a removable front spoiler?

and a 400hp 4.6 motor

I thought it was a 5.4L and the hp at the wheels was around 400. the Ford quoted hp at the crank was much lower than what it really was.

I think they have a 5.4. I remember that at the centennial SVT was telling the owners they were sol for parts being a 5.4 4 valve. The GT and GT500 saved their bacon for some spare parts.

I have a picture of five or six together at the centennial. Probably never happen again.

YIKES brain cramp, yes 5.4 normally aspirated. Official rating was 385 hp but was supposedly underrated, and put out around 400 give or take.

There is an SVT gathering Memorial day at VIR, that I can;t go to, but I bet there will be quite a few together again.

Congratulations, very nice car. :thumbsup You will love it at the track! Have (Denis) GT Guys take a look at 'upgrades' the next time he is in your neighborhood.

Nice car, and it looks perfect in red!:biggrin

Was the original owners name 'Tony' in Newport Beach?

The coolest one I saw was at SVT HQ. Looks like an 00 R, Underneath a terminator mule. I wonder if they still have it.

Nope, this was car was north, originally sold in Hayward, and in the bay area for it's life until moving east to me.

I LOVED those, even with that crazy @$$ wing in the back!:thumbsup

IRS too, right?

Congratulations, fantastic car. Nice to see it's still without it's radio :)

Correct.

IRS too, right?

And just what is the matter with RED?

Nice ride. Enjoy it. The color will convince you.
