    Dash Disassembly for Gauge Replacement

Search for the post I made 6 or 8 months ago on this topic. I included links to posts that were helpful to my as I tackled the job of a oil pressure gauge replacement. It was critical to cut one of the factory installed tie wraps that holds the gauge cluster in place. It won’t budge without...

    Heritage BarrettJackson

I believe the Heritage at Russo & Steele was a Canadian car. As I was looking at the car, I noticed there was a small decal in the window in French.

How much impact will Barrett-Jackson have on the market?

I was at Barrett yesterday, and was surprised to see a corral of GT’s. The 3 Heritage models have different mileages (if memory serves me correctly — <100, approx. 1,800, and approx. 4,000), so I am very interested in seeing the different price points. There was a blue & white at...

    Floor jack for low clearance

I have that floor jack. Bought one from Pelican Parts about a decade ago when I was racing a ‘73 Porsche 911e. This jack fits under a Ford GT. It is a LONG jack and has a long handle which means you need lots of side space to use it. It raises pretty high, too and has a quick-lift feature...

Oil Pressure Sending Switch Electrical Connector

I figured it out...….the small red tabs needed to be properly disengaged. To do so, I pushed one end of the red tab and when I did, the red tab moved about 1/8". This allowed me to disengage the electrical connector from the pressure switch.

Oil Pressure Sending Switch Electrical Connector

I am in the process of changing my oil pressure sending switch and have a question........what is the trick to removing the electrical connector in the switch? It looks like it should pull right off, but I don’t want to break it. AND there are two red plastic tabs on each side of the connector...

    Mecum Houston GT Heritage

I too saw the car yesterday. Don't know if it sold today as I was unable to go to the auction. I will be there tomorrow (saturday), so someone should be able to fill me in on the details. I noticed the car did not have the McIntosh stereo nor subwoofer. It also had an odd looking "spacer"...

    911 as a daily driver?

I have owned 2 Porsche's and they were both wonderful cars. But I am biased towards early 911's (pre-1974) and YES, they can be excellent daily drivers. For about 3 years, my 1973 911e was my daily driver and my weekend racer. Once a month, I would bolt a Yakima rack on its top, tie down 4...

Owner Review: Porsche Carrera GT vs. Ford GT Part 1 of 4

very nice work! I too am a Porsche fan having owned a 1973 911E and a 1989 911 Speedster. I have often thought that one of the few cars that would bring a similar thrill as my GT would be a Carrera GT. thanks for sharing your thoughts with the board.

So What Other Cars Did You Consider?

to answer the original posted question about which OTHER cars I considered prior to purchasing my Ford GT: a). Ferrari 360, b). Ferrari 430, c). 1966 - 1970 Shelby Mustang, d). Lamborghini Gallardo. My fiance liked the Ferrari 430 best, and i was really tempted, but i decided that the Ford GT...

Are there any cars better looking than a GT?

Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing (iconic, timeless, blue chip classic) Jaguar D Type (so few of them and so wild looking) Jaguar XK-SS (cool enough for Mr. McQueen) Ferrari 250 Lusso (class, speed, italian flair) Bugatti T57SC Atlantic (art deco styling) Lamborghini Muira (already mentioned by someone)...

    Half shaft bolts for dummies

Very nice write-up, Wwabbit. some feedback that could add some value to your fine write-up would be: 1). from my recollection of doing this job (confirmed by the link to Accufab's installation instructions below), the six outer bolts were to be torqued in two stages. first torqued to 30 foot...

    First ticket.

this thread made me spring for Gominigo's front license plate mount. i carry my plate behind my driver's seat now, but if i carry the fully assembled kit in the car, i may be able to talk my way out of a "no FLP" ticket.
