Clint, you are correct, the spring bumpers are not designed to be adjusted up and down like the solid bumpers. If for some unknown reason you need more height, just add a couple washers.

Clint my '06 also came with the solid bumpers. My '06 was actually manufactured in Dec '05. So, the spring bumpers must have come after that some time. My spring replacement is Ford part #6G7Z-6343128-A. I don't remember exactly the details of installing it since it was probably 10 years...

I don't know anything about our headlight designs, but here's a thought based from some ignorance. Most bulbs put off heat, heat plus moisture creates steam/fog. My thought is to drill some ventilation holes in the back of your headlight module to let the moisture escape as your bulb heats...
