Tonight, Adam Corolla's new show on speed.

They were there filming both on the GT day and the regular mile. (I actually had to give permission for them to be there Saturday since it was a private event) Apollo ran a 233 and later in the day a 238+. AlohaGT ran a 235. In the standing mile Apollo set the record on Sunday at 226.4 for cars...

Tonight, Adam Corolla's new show on speed.

Matt was cool to chat with that day. He commented that he wished he had more hp like our TT's. :lol Saw Terry's car in the grid and mine went whizzing by for a brief second during a shot at the finish line. Did not see the whole show though, just the Mojave part. He needs to get in a GT and film...

    Farewell Atlantis

Absolutely Fantastic Photos!!! :thumbsup:thumbsup That is so great that you have been up close and actually in a shuttle. I would love to do that. I got to go on a tour of the Nimitz and a couple of other naval ships when I was younger. That was awesome as well. Another aviation type thing...

    World Land Speed Record Broken

Agree, definitely not my own. :lol Have you ever seen the tires they run on?? They are really small width wise.........almost like a motorcycle tire. Plus as I understand it is also not for those of you that like "action" as it is a long wait to make your run...as in get in line and wait a day...

    World Land Speed Record Broken

The salt is not good for your car at all and they have huge safety requirements. Full cage, fire suppression etc...a must. I have a friend that is building a car for the salt flats and for the mile as well. A 1,700hp TT C4 Corvette. It should beat that record someday. but that is a very...

Why are dealers such a rip off

I have been away for a bit and just found this thread. I find Chip's point enlightning. There was info that I did not know about in there regarding new cars. I have had good and bad experiences at dealers in purchasing and service the same as any other product I have purchased. You find good and...

Need a little help near Detroit..........

........looking to buy a motorcycle in the Detroit area. (about 15 minutes north) If there is anyone around who can do a quick visual inspection in the next day or two I would greatly appreciate it. No mechanical, just checking it out to see if it has been laid down. If anyone has time drop me a...

Somebody needs to set the record straight.

I would like to say I don't find this annoying....but I do. :frown We have four Forum members who have run faster than that in a Standing Mile (Peak, Mark H, Apollo and Mullet) not to mention that Ray blasted this guy in person. What a tool. :thumbsdow

Got to drive a Boss 302 LS.....and all it cost me was the keys to my New GT!!

Wow, that new Boss 302 Laguna Seca is sweet. Not going to write a review as more qualified guys with more seat time can do that, but first impressions are it was very snappy and handles great!! An awesome addition to any car guys line-up. :thumbsup:thumbsup Thanks to Terry and Monica for...

    My Very First Mustang!!

Ok, I KNOW I saw you run a 218.1 mph run, which is faster than 99% of all GT owners so don't play the slow card pal!! We know the truth that big speed is lurking under that calm exterior. :biggrin

Another 'What do you do for a living' thread.

I just caught this thread and I expected the numerous humorous responses that I saw. :thumbsup:thumbsup However of the serious responses I noticed one that was missing. How you handle adversity. If you are going to be successful you are going to fail.....and probably more than once. It can be a...

    Looking this weekend any advice

Be ready to walk away. Only buy exactly what you want. I have never passed on a car and not found one that I did not like as much or better. These cars are so awesome it is easy to get swept away. Keep your head. All the other advice is sound as well, particularly the PPI if you are not buying...

Mark & Sean's 232 mph Texas Mile Run

Agreed. There is a lot more that 1048 there with how well you ran into the wind. 230+ is an impressive feat. Congrats on the big runs and I can't wait to see how it performs with better weather. :cheers

    Texas mile

Sorry to hear about the poor weather conditions for everyone. Glad you got to flex the TT a bit though Chip. Every run of 200mph+ is an accomplishment in my book. Glad you guys all made it out safe. Sounds like Mark's car is going to be insane with good weather.
