    Massive Power Loss Whipple Gt

Kurt Do you still have the stock muffler? What you describe sounds a lot like heat sink. Meaning that the engine or certain components absorb heat and the heat causes a loss of power. Very, very common with stock vehicles ont he street and track. Even if the stock muffler has been removed if...

    Road Racing Advise

There are numerous threads about driving, brake pads, suspension, courses etc. Use the serach function to find these. The biggest tip is not to get on the gas too soon coming out of a turn or when it is cool, track and air temps.

    Hard compound pads

The GT will take some getting used to in regard to braking points and traction through the turns. As you are aware it can be easily spun if too much power is applied too quickly. On larger tracks it will run and hide from the 911s both an the straights and turns. 911 drivers don't like GTs...

    anyone exhaust stats?

A well designed exhaust for the GT will not add horsepower or torque. It will avoid heat soak, because of the poor design of the original muffler, thus saving up to 60 hp when the car is running at normal or race conditions. A poorly designed exhaust will not result in these savings. Bob Ida...

    Dyno help-where to measure air-fuel

the reason to put in a bung is so that the Dyno shop can take out the plug, put in their wide band (very expensive, very accurate) O2 sensor and gather accurate information about the fuel mixture. Then when all is done they screw the plug back in and your off to the races. Dave

    Dyno help-where to measure air-fuel

Derry IMO you are correct. Generally you need to install a bung which the O2 sensor is inserted through. It requires someone with a cutting torch, the bung connector and a welder. Placing a O2 sensor in the exhaust does not give a true reading. Dave

Anyone seen these Official Ford GT mats?

The give rights to anyone who pays the licensing fee. But Ford can still do what they want and offer carpets or whatever. There can also be multiple vendors offering the same item, there is no exclusive deal.

    This will stir you....!

I agree that none of the original drivers drove the cars; some of those still alive probably couldn't fit into the car if they so desired. Bandini was killed racing; I believe at Monaco. Regazzoni (at Long Beach?) was paralyzed as the result of a racing accident. Many of the others with the...
