Interesting history of car logos. I can not authenticate the accuracy, but the Ferrari one made me chuckle..

P.S. Randy can comment on the BMW description..

The Ferrari logo story is what I have always heard as being factual.

That is a pretty cool link..thx

With respect to the BMW logo, I have seen long time Beemer (Motorcycle) fans argue adamantly about this.

Although the white propeller against a blue sky is cute and popular, I read a detailed article that says most factual evidence does not support that background, and that it is more likely derived from the colors of the Bavarian Flag.

For the full and interesting article, there is a PDF file available via Wikipedia, after searching BMW Logo History, and then pulling up footnote 1. The BMW Logo - Fact or Fiction, Dr Florian Triebel (Retrieved 20 December 2006)

Anything on Wikipedia should be viewed with the greatest suspicion as the people who make the posts are geenrally not qualified to write about the subject

We all know that FIAT is short for Fix It Again Tony & that's the real truth how that car company got it's name. :biggrin

True. All media should be critically considered and viewed with suspicion.

In this instance, the wikipedia article references another article, that is not otherwise related to wikipedia. I was using the wikipedia site to provide a link to the worthwhile PDF article that provides food for thought and discussion.
