I also believe that the front rotors on the GT500 shelby are the same as the gt.
I am puttin Gt suspension all the way around on my pantera so i am as excited as all hell for these babies and i could market them into the gt500 territory.
 
I was looking at putting these on a viper. The concern I had was that even from a "light trackday" use ther tech guy told me the rotors may need to be resurfaced, which is possible with their material.

I know i just called my ford dealer and checked too. But i will call some uut at stop tech on monday and talk to them about the gt500 rotor.
 
Has anyone ever quantified the benefit of unsprung weight?
 
I just upgraded to AP Racing brakes. :bang:bang:mad:ack:frown
 
It's not just unsprung weight but rotational mass. The forces generated by rotational mass are far greater than their static weight.. Maybe some of the mathematicians can provide some formulas ??

Here is a photo of the Stop Tech CC rotor on the latest Callaway Speedster. They also have the Dymag wheels.. This is the ultimate combo in rotational mass reduction !!!

Someone once told me that removing roughly 7lb. from a vehicle would produce the same result as adding 1 hp. :confused

That may be true for static weight but I would guess a reduction in rotational mass would yield a higher number. The chief engineer at Dymag said a typical Carbon Fiber wheel swap would be equal to a 50 HP gain. That maybe a high estimate for the GT with the light weight BBS wheels..?

*IF* 7LB = 1HP, I would have to assume that a reduction in rotational mass would yield greater results. Thats Awesome.

Does that include pads too? Also what the est. for replacement pads, once they wear out?

By the way $10k is a bargain, I have paid much much more for ceramic for my other cars.
 
How do these compare to ceramic rotors? For future reference.
 
They are ceramic rotors.
