I only got ONE run since it was so darn crowded, so naturally the run wasnt too good. Worried that I would spin the tires, I over-compensated coming out of the hole and then rolling it on and shifting to 2nd. This worked to avoid wheel spin, but probably killed the time and speed in the qtr. I was able to run it pretty hard in 2nd and 3rd, but at the traps was at about 6200 rpm still in 3rd gear. I ran a 11.9 at 133mph. The 60' time was about 2.3. Im curious how these times compare to others?? I was wanting to see 140mph, so was a little disapointed. Thanks for any comments to compare with...

133mph is smokin hot for a stock car with goodyears. The planets have to line up to do this.

It is right in the range for a pulley tune exhaust car. I think the best I have seen from one of them is 134. ?Mph. ET should be 11.2 -11.4 at this MPH on gooyears and a good launch. With Corsa's out back and Mihovetz driving he cut a 10.97 on that combo, Mph as I recall was not that different.

Paging California Cuda...have some details?

With a Heffner tune and pulley and only got 1 run and lit up the tires ( 2.3 short time) I ran 11.3 at 135mph. Without pulley and tune bone stock the car ran 11.5 at 126 with a 2.0 short time. With a tires and a good leave easy 10.5 at 136, I will let you know for sure on October 8th as we are renting the track and I will be putting tires on the car.

1st gear.....

Im just wondering how critical 1st gear was.... I know I didnt run it hard enough in 1st for fear of lighting the tires. I crawled off the line and quick shifted into 2nd probably around 5000 rpm. I still expected a higher mph at the traps. For the 1st ever run though, im not too unhappy.

Well, first gear is by far the most important gear for ET but your trap is low for a Whipple. I also went 133mph with 592rwhp. Shifting into 2nd where you did is what killed your mph. If you just want to see what it'll mph don't worry as much about the launch. As long as you don't burn em all the way down the track your launch isn't nearly as important to mph as E.T.

Jamie,

interesting running into you and Mr. Sullivan at Cowles? Ford on Saturday. Keep me posted, especially if there is any more room at the track: there might be more of us MD GT's who could make it.
