Was that ,"here's my check $145K" or "trade in" $145K, Doc?

and you are getting a ..........?

Take it!

New car @ list with 145 credit on GT

That's what I figured. That's only $145K "on paper", Doc. Not "real money". If you sell it yourself you'd pbly do much better IMHO.

('Coarse, that being said, if you can avoid paying the sales tax on $145K worth of your NEW car's sticker buy trading the GT in...?:shrug)

What are you getting (not that it's any of MY bizznus)?

Actually I dont think so . At 317500 cash the tax is 20637 ; at 172500 (317500 - 145000) the tax is 11212 so i would have to sell the GT for 145000 plus 9425 just to get back to where I would be much less a better deal. I just dont see a Ford GT in todays market to be worth circa the 160000 that would make the effort worth the pita of dealing with potential purchasers.

2007 built to order - LP640 Yellow No options

The real question is: If you shop around to buy a LP640 cash outright without a trade would you be looking at MSRP or is discounting a possibility? If the answer is no, then trading in the GT for 145K makes a lot of sense to me.

Say it isn't so!

Doc, say it isn’t so! Please tell me you’re not leaving us! I feel like I’m back in high school and I’ve once again been jilted by a member the opposite sex! Doc, this is bad… very bad! Why are you leaving us?

Trading the GT probably is, in fact, the smart way to go (if buying a 300K plus car can be considered anything but dumb ) as it is likely impossible order, much less buy a 640 at less than list, particually when it does not have any of the outrageously profit laden accessories. Moreover "shopping around " doesn;t apply as Lamborghini highly discourages dealers for ordering cars for buyers who are located outside of their "100 mile" service area.
In actual fact, it is difficult to order a car at all as dealers (does this sound familiar ?) prefer to order cars with unpronouncable color names and silly paddle transmissions and 7200 glass hoods a al the "4 options"

I believe I said that!:rofl ("'Coarse, that being said, if you can avoid paying the sales tax on $145K worth of your NEW car's sticker by trading in your GT...?" :shrug )

What made you decide go the Lambo route, Doc?

:lol :lol :lol

If you are going to get rid of it, why not just get rid of it instead of posting an obviously low trade number here. I don't understand the purpose of this post. Well, maybe I do, but I would rather not say anything until someone else does. Bony? :wink :biggrin :lol

I will write you a check for it for 145k , they are stealing it from you , See I said it!!!

It will be on eBay, with a "Buy It Now" of $174,999 in a week.

145 (actual 155 to me) seems to be actual value in this area. I don't see the :buy it now @ 179 cars selling.

I was just kiddin around.

Sorry to hear you are selling it. The dealers have to make money too so they are low-ballin you. That's part of the business. If you don’t want the hassle of selling it yourself... go with it.

Most dealers will let you do an "in and out" to save the taxes even if you do sell it yourself. In Texas, I think you can file some documents to get the tax savings even if you sell a car and then buy a new a month later (I've never tried this so I'm not 100% on how it works).

Good luck.

Ok I'm going to say it.

Why would you get out of the GT which has really hit the bottom of its depreciation in value and go to the lambo at 300K when your going to take a 100K hit over the next 2 years.

I want a murci...I just can't bring myself to buy one at the top of the market...now a 2003 Ithica Verde (thats lime green to you and me) was what 260 new? I have been seeing the 2003's getting into the 180's now. To me I bought the GT because of the love of the car and as a bonus I apparently got a car thats going to hold some kind of value very very well it seems. Why not buy a used lambo and keep the GT and be in it for the same amount of money :)

Besides you and an LP will be side by side in a run...pulley the GT and you can leave him standing there...I know and I have witnesses...hehehehe
