Could this be a possible idea for a future rally event / activity?

...early Autumn 2021, the American Festival of Speed will be held at Detroit-area motorsports complex the M1 Concourse.

Sounds interesting.

That’s incredibly ambitious - good luck!

Very interesting but I have low expectations for this event.

They do have a nice facility and the monthly cars and coffees (before virus) would draw over 1000 vehicles. Some members here own garage condos there. They are starting with a 3 day event this August 13,14,15 to commemorate the Woodward Dream Cruise.
Certainly enough car guys in the area.

The Event for the 13. 14, 15 of August cancelled.
Too difficult to meet Government distancing rules.

Well, hopefully the idea doesn't die permanently. Would be great to have more high quality events to choose from.

I spoke to the CEO of the company that is doing this event. It is alive and well but we will have to wait until 2021.

I've been to Goodwood and M! and I personally think GT owners would be very disappointed. the M1 track is just not what GT owners are used to from previous rallys or events. OK for a car show and small track gathering but the overall logistics are terrible. just my opinion but I don't see it.

Goodwood and Classic LeMan is a happening....Period dress, period atmosphere, its total class and respect for the cars and people.
Its a HUGE undertaking .
Pebble and Monterey are the only things close with Laguna Seca but its to spread out.
I love the idea but with what's going on today, ehhhh. Sadly.
