Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Porsche just bag all those folks who paid crazy $$$ for a 911R?

I like porches but It amazes me how they can make 30 different varieties of the same car.

My thoughts exactly. I'm sure 911R has some additional features, but essentially 500hp and manual transmission
 
Not sure that any modern 911 should be considered collectible.
 
So this is like a GT3 RS?...,,,
Not like any of us care.
I did like it (aesthetically) in purple but we only got to thrash an orange one on the track.
 
Gentlemen,

Buying this 911 would be like buying a platinum Rolex. You would know that its pretty special, but to the rest of the world it's just another stainless steel watch. And to many people that's the objective. But to me, a big part of the fun with our current GT's and more so the new GT is the excitement they arouse everywhere they go.

That's my take on it.

The 911R would become a collectible I think. Porsche should find a place for the manual tranny in the current 911 TT.
 
Are the new 911s still mostly a steel unibody?
 
Won't hurt that bad. Look what a GT3 RS 4.0 is worth. Early 911R buyers were always on crack but they are being sold in the $400s now. They can probably sustain that.

I love all of them. New car looks great. Love the Sport Classic Grey. Would still order it in PDK. I bet $5 all these people who talk shit about they'd order a manual transmission will give in a year after they find out the manual transmission cars aren't worth any more money. PDK is still the baddest ass transmission in the world if you want to drive fast.
 
I don't follow Porsche at all. They all ''sort of look like Turtles'' to me......just different colors.
