The new video game has just hit store shelves and the hero car is none other than the GT. Select the car and look up its specs and, according to the game at least, the new Ford supercar is packing 630 horsepower and 539 pound-feet of torque. Other interesting tidbits revealed in the game include a weight of 2,890 lbs and a 43-57 front-rear weight distribution.

I might have to buy this game, and the Ford GT-themed Xbox One console... :big grin

BTW, did anyone see this story Automotive News about the new commercial starring the new GT in Forza? It's a good one.

Was on last night.

Our kids already have an Xbox one, could not resist getting another. Will be fun to see them race each other.

0-60 is good but 0-100 not so much but little aftermarket work on the turbo should get over 700hp

was hoping for under 5sec 0-100

It should be noted that these times are not programmed in the game, it's determined by the physics engine using the programmed cars stats.

With the Mc 650s and the Mc LT 675 making 650 HP & 675 HP and the F488 making over 650 Hp The new GT needs a minimum of 650 HP to be in the game.

Not really. Forget the street car. They are doing that because they have to. The real thing that matters is the race version and that is only about hp:weight and driver skill.

The 650S is almost 200 lbs heavier so I think it's more than able to hold its own.

Ford GT:
4.58 LB/HP
5.36 LB/LB-FT

650S:
4.91 LB/HP
6.29 LB/LB-FT

458 Speciale:
5.15 LB/HP
7.72 LB/LB-FT

just for fun:

Ferrari Enzo:
4.74 LB/HP
6.37 LB/LB-FT

The new Ferrari 488 has a lot more power than the old 458. 661 HP, not sure what the final weight is of the 488, and we'll need to see what the final weight of the GT is # 2900 lbs would be fantastic !! I don't want the new GT to be close it should be well above the competition !!

Don't worry, after adding blue LEDs to all ducts it will be far ahead of the pack :)

Ferrari's claimed curb weight with lightweight options for 488 is 3,252. The reality is that you will see almost ZERO 488s that weigh that much, if any at all. I would be surprised if you see many below 3,350 lb and I will not be at all surprised to see them tip the scales at ~3,450 or even 3500+.

Ferrari's claim on the 458 Speciale is 3,080. Go to Ferrari Chat and look at what they really weigh. Stripper spec Speciale at 3,336. US spec Speciale at 3,340. Another in that thread weighed in at 3,287.

Ford does not dick around with dry weight games. The car will weigh what they say it weighs, full of fluids and fully fueled.

Be charitable and give Ferrari the 3,252 claim.

3,252/661 = 4.91 lb per hp

Even at a hypothetical:

2,890/630 = 4.58 lb per hp

There's going to be a beating handed out. And that's just in a straight line.

I should also add, Ferrari's claim of 1,395 kg for the curb weight on Speciale is also followed by a claim of 1,290 kg dry weight. Those are some heavy fluids and options Luigi is adding to gain nearly 500 lb. in the real word.

Standard practice though. Lambo claimed a dry weight of 3,274 for the LP570-4 Performante. I drove it across the street to the scales and it weighed 3,820.

Cool , the Italians are always optimistic in their weights and indicated speeds on the Speedo. I haven't seen the weight on the Mac LT 675. Than would probably be the closest competitor.
I'm sure Ford will leave some power on the table for the power junkies. Can you imagine a 2900 lb GT with 700 HP !!

Since the New GT is track focused with lots of aero down force I wonder if that will allow it to go over the 205 MPH of our car. Cars like the Mosler MT 900 and the Saleen S7 that were track focused cars created a lot of down force=drag which affected the top speeds of those cars. It's going to be interesting to see the numbers for the new GT with all it's aero tricks and innovative styling.

I sincerely doubt this will be a top speed darling, as you suggest Brian. Way too much drag, in the down force elements.

Top speed is high.

= active aero, must help, a lot

Top speed is high.
