Seems like there are quite a few track rats around here. Maybe not necessarily with their beloved GT's, but I gather several members take their cars onto road courses, 1/4 mile and/or mile events. Anyone else have their helmets painted? Really enjoy seeing what designs others have put on their noggin protectors. Post up some pics here.

Metallic flake really comes out in the sunlight.

Wow bonehead.
That's almost too purty to use!
Well done.
Mine's just virgin white.

Wow, nicely done Ed. Given the colours, it's almost like you wanted a Heritage..... ;-) Still, the metallic blue stripes go nicely with the remaining white on the helmet and thus with your (excellent) choice of car. :-)

I'm still white on white, still working on colors. But tell me about your visor.

Very nicely done. There's something about a nicely painted helmet that just makes you feel more serious on the track. I had mine done a while back. The same painter also did one each for my son and my daughter. Here are a few phone pictures of the one he did for me. The "El Heffe" started out as a nick name given to me at the track. I didn't find out until later that "El Jefe" means "the boss". Oh well. It gave me a name to live up to.

Censport did a great job on my helmet as well.cohen1.jpgcohen2.jpgcohen3.jpgcohen4.jpgcohen5.jpg

That's very cool. Was the helmet done after the Satin car was complete as a complement?

Very nice, Jason! And I completely agree. Somewhat akin to wearing proper workout clothes to the gym and not a pair of old jeans and a ratty t-shirt:)

Tyler does some of the best helmet work out there!

what does he charge for this?

Mine was about 750.00. Chrome finishes like on Jason Cohen's helmet run a little more and add time to the process.

I'll PM you. He does helmets for a some of the ALMS guys including Tommy Milner (Corvette). Very talented young man.

Mine was done before I even began the Satin 7 project. I have a radical SR3rs that is black/red/silver/ so that was the inspiration. The helmet does go great with Satin 7 which The GT Guy's are delivering the 19th. Can't wait to see it in person. Tyler is great to work with and I would recommend anyone to him.

Visor is an Arai mirrored iridium blue. 'Censport' logo along the top is a sticker. Looks cool but it obscures my vision a bit more than I like. May end up taking that off.

Maybe, but what you NEED is a Ford 1 litre.

Awesome on both counts. One of the better Radical paint schemes I've seen. Roketman is going to have a coronary when he sees the Porsche.
