Prices are running up!

Looking at my sheet it shows the following numbers on the colors.
Red = 1113
White = 726
Tungsten = 541
Black = 529
Blue = 455
Heritage = 343
Yellow = 171
Silver = 154

Everybody keeps talking about red being the most-produced color, but on my option breakdown sheet from my Certificate of Authenticity package, it says that in 2006, there were FAR more Tungsten cars produced (541, to 348 red). For that matter, the Heritage Blue wasn't far behind the red, at 343.

Unfortunately, that is about the only piece of paper that arrived intact from my whole Certificate of Authenticity package, which arrived on my doorstep sometime last week, in a thin cardboard envelope, in a small snowdrift on my doorstep. It was all completely soggy and disintegrated. I wish Ford packaged such valuable documents better (or send it with signature on delivery)- I figured they could just print me off another window sticker, but they said that there were only two stickers produced for each car, and they just sent me out the second one (and Lord only knows where the original one is). And they don't keep that info stored somewhere, so I may be SOL....

First, you are right. In 2005 there were more reds. Everyone gets hung up on numbers. And while I think the Heritage is cool cuz I have one, I still don't understand the high premium they get. There were fewer yellow ones as I recall...

Second, ping Ford on the package. They will replace it. Send them a picture. If they hassle you I think maybe Marcie can help :) I'm guessing they will want the damaged set back.

My mom and sister just moved from North Sioux to Sioux Falls.

It really sucks to be where winter exists.

Right, I see that the total numbers (2005 & 2006 combined) is the important thing here. I was just surprised at the color breakdown, looking just at the 2006 figures (which is all I had).

Ford has been great to deal with on this matter, but the problem is that they simply don't have another sticker to replace it with. I could care less about the ~100 bucks. They are sending out everything else again (minus the window sticker), free of charge. I sent them photos of the damaged contents. I also notified UPS, but what's done is done. Had I known that the window sticker was irreplaceable, I would have requested delivery confirmation (or THEY should have).

Ps Let me know when you are in the SF area!

I have been watching the GT for about 3 years now and 3 years ago the difference was much larger that it is today. Starting around the middle of last summer that difference started to get much smaller. My feeling is that in another 3-5 years the price difference will be even smaller if there even is a difference with the exception of the heritage.

Can I get a certificate even if I'm second owner of the car ?
Who do I call to get a certificate ?

Thanks DBK !

Red, no matter the production numbers or price predictions was my #1 choice.
Makes no difference how many were made or what color the cars are classics.
They do not make them any more, there will never be another factory
production car to match them. I see on the posts that Yellow is next to the least produced.
This was my second choice, personal likes, now I am glad I have been blessed to have both.
With all the "Out There" painted cars and wraps that we have the privilege of seeing
the "WOW" factor would not be there if it was not a FORD GT body/platform.
Price like beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If you want it and you have the resources,
your idea of the best or most liked will fulfill your dreams. Owning a FORD GT was only
a dream for many of us. Welcome to my dream.

Well said, Blake. Mine is due in my garage by Saturday ! It was loaded today in Dallas.

Looks better coming off the truck into your driveway!!!

We are all extremely fortunate to own/drive such a special car. I just like red (I have 2). Would have bought red if it was the most "common" color (it is), or the rarest.

Just me. Wouldn't change a thing.
