Got a FGT TODAY!!!

There is - but I had already purchased an exhaust at the time I purchased my GT...and I don't want now to repurchase - again. LOL

Congrats on your FGT!! Enjoy her in good health. You will love your FGT.

Thanks Kenric,

So who are the guys in the L.A. Area.....I only know Kevin so far?

It does look so hot without the bumper!! I just can't bring myself to do it!!!!

me either :(

Ross, wish you made it out this morning. Two midnight blues and a tungsten. No red ones:( Met Kevin (4LEMANS) and Steve (Colton74).
Hopefully will get to meet up next time I'm down here.

My insurance company has pictures of the car with the bumper attached - I don't want to jeopardize my coverage by removing it, as it is a safety related item. Not sure if it would, but I don't want to take any chances...

Ed....I was tempted, but getting up at 5:30 was a bit daunting, and since I knew Kevin was going I knew you'd get to see at least one.....congrats on seeing three! I am doing a FGT canyon cruise with Kevin and some others in a couple weeks.....

I just noticed the charger that came with the car, from Ford, is outputting over 18 volts. Is this typical, or has mine failed in some way? I would think even trickle charging at 18 volts would be bad for the battery.

Hey Ross,
Beautiful morning, missed a good one.
For your trickle charger, if you post the question in the GT TECH section you will get a lot more views and answers.

OK will do......

Is that with or without load? I could see 18 volts with no load. Should be around 14.5 with load though...

Kevin, did you meet Ed (and he has your username wrong) or was there another FGT Kevin there?

It's 18 volts volts without the load, but I can't remember ever seeing a transformer that outputs 50% over its rated voltage even open circuit.....however, I'm not a EE.....but certainly the float charger I used instead only put out 13 volts with no load......

We did meet. Got his username from the other forum mixed up.

Ahhh ok.....very good.

The 18-volt no-load scenario is perfectly normal on a good float charger. If you measure it with a load once connected, it should drop down to the 14 volt range +/- a volt or so...

13-volts with no load is low...as it takes at least 13.3 volts to give you any type of decent charge. Your alternator will give you 14.2 volts while driving, which is what you need to get a charge under most conditions. If you see under 13, it's running too low for a decent charge. If you want good solid performance, go with a CTEK.

OK cool....

Hey
Congrats on the car.

Thanks buddy.....
