Torrie,

Went out tonight to go get some gas in the GT and appears my starting problem from earlier this month has come back. Unless I can get this problem worked out tonight I'll be bringing my F150 tomorrow morning for the tune. Melted the starter wire connector and had it replaced and heat shielding added and thought the problem was solved.

Ok, what is the current problem ?

I melted the starter wire connector that goes into the starter. This happened during the 4th of July. Had it repaired and have driven it around several times with no problem. Went out tonight to start it up and it just makes a single click sound when I push the start button and then nothing else. Lights are good and strong so I just don't think it is a battery problem. I have a fairly new Sears Plat Die Hard. Took the ground off that goes from battery to the frame and re-tighten it to make sure it's not a ground problem. Might be that the FRRP cat delete pipes I have are putting out too much heat and cause heat problems with the starter. Had extra heat blanket material installed to protect the starter so don't know what is going on. I'm not in a position to be able to raise the car up and get a good look at the starter.

You should be able to try to view that from the top.

I've unscrewed the side of the air box, moved it over and can get my hand down to the connector. It does appear to be loose and I've tried pushing it back on several times. Has not solved the problem.

Ok.

Welcome to the land of 100% humidity and 100 degrees. Water doesn't make much power.

SAE correction factor's worst nightmare.
