Everyone became pissed at each other this weekend. Construction halted today according to local ten o'clock news.

As long as the check clears to Ecclestone,

He has no problem, He has New Jersey now.

Eclestone said something smartass about owning the franchise this weekend. That spooked the builder and then The State of TX pulled their funds. They will not pay a dime up front. Theat was not the deal everyone agreed on. Total crap fight coming up.

Bernie may be a billionaire,

But he has burned many bridges getting there. He doesn't know what honorable action is.

That blows. To be honest, I've been somewhat skeptical from the start. Something about Austin, a new circuit and the big money kiss the ring game seemed off.

Hopefully they find a way to do it. That would be an awesome race week down there.

Plus 10000+ but I would have not thought the bull dozers would be running for this long, or even get started. Remember the Aruba track that was sopposed to happen? That at least never broke ground.

That's what made it seem like it was possible. The fact they had the website running, the deal with the V8 Supercars, and the constant updates on the status of the track building seemed like the real deal.

Europe is falling apart...not as many people to pay $125-1000/ticket

He needs bodies

He lost touch with reality/customers/fans.

Agreed on all. Really seemed like was a done deal, even the date move to get out of the summer heat was positive. Maybe will come back together... seems like a long shot though. Geez Bernie could have even stayed at his daughters house in Bevery Hills (former "Spelling" mansion) and not had much of a commute.

Boy sure kinda sounds like another series I used to like that begins with N ..... I now call is Asscar..... (sorry dusty)

Bernie is at the top of his game.....he is very ambitious..and wants more.........Imagine he demands $25 Mil deposit, a year and 1/2 before the actual race, up front......and if by chance he should cancel, go try to collect it....

They lost me with the farce at Indy. I just wanted the track completed so when it exploded we could have a world class track 1 hr from the house. I hope the project is bonded so the land can be restored as it sits now it looks like a giant dump.

It's the saga that never ends. Crazy.

Hopefully it happens, as silver bullitt says, half done it is quite a mess.

It is back on, There is a new thread somewhere where the announcement was made. I posted an email from their marketing director. It will be real to me when I walk through the gate.
