No--from everything I have read about this trip it is not safe. Someone should call the hotel and warn them.

Go to the Best Western in Monterey Beach...it is 100 yrds on sand direct beach front

2600 Sand Dunes Drive, Monterey, California 93940-3838
Phone: 831/394-3321 | Fax: 831/393-1912

Rooms are like W or Hyatt, huge lobby with teak furniture, fireplaces

Not BW fan, but this must be some test-example of next rung up

will cost you $350 (during Concours) with AAA...worth it as equi-distant to Marina, Laguna, PB, Carmel.
Covered locked parking, with gate; right off freeway

Kayvan,

At that price your going to have GTJOEY start a donation thread.......:lol.

I need a donation thread...I priced out going to Pebble Beach after all the $150 entrance fee and hotels...it was l;ike $3500 for the whole weekned...air, hotels, car, 3 days of events

Put $ towards Vette & pulled trigger

if it is anything like the HoJo in New Jersey I was stuffed at by the airlines one night I would run - not walk away from it....

not unless you like places where your socks stick on the carpet in the room, the beds are used in Raid commercials and the towels are what you believe to be naturally gray.

Good luck!

How about the Bates Motel ? :eek

I stayed at that BW 3x...you will be happy, beds...sheets are high end

Clean and location is perfect...2min from Cannery Row Hotels (4 auctions there; good for nights)

McD across the way for quick bfast/coffee and Chilis for late nites

....just get high floors

That pounding surf literally fogs up lower windows

He's going for the sleep apnea operation...seperate beds............
Looks like we have options will report back my tiger friend...also went to best buy......another headache........but looks like the 32 gig and screen looks good....
Dont know what Im doing but it looks good......gtjoey1314

:lol :lol Love it - :thumbsup

Seriously, at this point in time, keep any reservation you have, as everything will be pretty well dried up and/or super-expensive (~$500/night)

i agree with the gentleman who said that the hotels with auctions in them (Mecum, RM) are sold out. the rest of the hotels are almost there, and they have all jacked up their rates for the concourse/auction weekend.

i ended up booking a room from Wed - Sat night at Ventana in Big Sur. it is a bit of a drive to Monterrey, but my significant other will probably enjoy the spa while i am enjoying the cars. it is my first time to go to Monterrey during concourse/auction weekend. i make other auctions & concourses during the year, but this one is special (like Scottsdale in January).

My wife & daughter just stayed at the Best Western in Seaside (aka "Monterey Beach"). It's right on the water. My daughter goes to college nearby. It was $139 for a weekend night. Prices definitely are up for the auto week!

I just checked it for fun - for 08/19, $389/night with a 3 night minimum.

I initially booked the B/W but they wanted 100 percent paid now non refundable plus alot of other fees.Looks like we are in town at the COLTON INN which would make it more convenient to all the restaraunts.....we will see both are 4 to 10 miles from pebble and laguna, I just cant wait..............gtjoey1314
