got some new bridgestone tires put on the FGT, car can actually put "some" power down in 1st gear now....

this run spun at the end of 1st and a little into 2nd...

Time 03:51 Date 19/03/2011

Speed(mph) Time(s)
0-60 03.1
0-100 06.7
60-130 06.8
50-70 01.4

0-60' 02.0
0-660' 07.4 @ 102.9 MPH
0-1320' 11.2 @ 134.9 MPH

Great times, with that 134 trap speed you must have more than a pulley and tune.

I think you just convinced me to go to non-GY when they are replaced.

I got a 131/2 on a pulley tune

Question - why is it that with all this power, these cars can't turn 10's in the 1/4 mile, whereas the Z's will with less? Is it gearing, or weight, or traction? I would have thought that they'd hook better than an SRT10 or a Z, just because of engine location. When I say power, I don't mean the stock power - I'm referring to the 600+ RWHP many of them develop after the standard low cost bolt-ons.

Not many people have used full drag radials on the GT's.

yes its weight, traction, and tires, there is plenty of power to get to 10's but as mullet said not many will put ugly 18 in wheel on the rear to get drag radials on. there was a guy here that did that and ran a 10.60's at 13? mph, cant remember, but he was on DR's and launched pretty hard.

my run was on the street.... I'm pretty sure I'll go 10's at the drag strip..... I'll know soon, I have to get a maf extender and appropriate tune for my GT before I hit the drag strip.... If I shift hard into 3rd gear I lose power, I found someone with the same issue and the maf extender fixed the problem....

Here is a 10.6 @ 135 MPH run... same mods...

That would be me, and that was on the stock tires and the only mods were pulley and tune by Jason Heffner. I actually had another run immediately after the 10.69 run I couldn't find the slip on, where I had a 1.67 60' but it broke the tires loose on the second gear shift and I had to lift and the car still ran a 10.71 at 136 mph. If it had stuck on the shift I am sure it would of run 10.5 something?

On the street - that would explain it! 10.6's on factory tires is seriously quick and if that guy is who I think he is - he's one seriously fast quarter miler. Most won't go as fast as he will. I bought his Viper Roadster a few years ago, and he broke a (stock setup) world record in it with stock tires and no mods.
