Fred Goodnow always said 32.

I don't doubt Fred but I think I'd send a pm to Alex too.

32 or a bit less sounds right. BTW, just switched OEs to B--stones 265 and 345.

anyone using the Pilot Cup 265/35/18 on the front? Just ordered a set, hopefully they will look better than the 245/40's on there now. The 245's have the stretched tire look as if they aren't wide enough for the rim.

What are going to combine them with out back?

Hoosier R6

I'll probably use my Pilot Cup's (2nd set of wheels) on the rear for track day stuff.

WTF is everyone doing about the lack of tires for our cars? Kendall informed me that not only are our Goodyears not available, neither are the Bridgestones.

My Goodyear rears are down to 4/32 and I am running at Mojave in April so I am definitely in the market for some rubber.

Keep us informed, I may need some tires too!

The Pilot Super Sports will be out in April. Crossing my fingers they will have either a stock GT size or something that works.

Dave - you'll probably run a little faster with less tread - drop the pressure as low as they will let you for the run.

PS - I just sent a PM to DBK re the tires

Willl a GT500 Rim and tire fit on the GT? Are the rated for 200+ mph? It may look ugly, but it may be an option and not that expensive.

What year GT500?

2011's wheels/tires are:
P255/40Z19 front tires, P285/35ZR19 rear tire
19 x 9.5-inch forged aluminum wheels with SVT center cap

Last month I just got 4 new (Oct. 2010) Bridgestones thru Tire Rack delivered to my local Ford dealer.

Goodyear Tires

I sent this to Goodyear tonight -

Dear Teresa:

Many of the Ford GT's are currently stranded (i.e. the owners are putting minimum mileage on their cars) due to the lack of available rear tires (315/40ZR19) for the car, and the front tires (235/45ZR18) have dwindled down to a minimum (<30 in the US). As owners of Ford's 21st Century Halo Car, we have been sorely in need of tires (for over a year) to show this amazing Ford product to the masses of America, and to enjoy the capabilities of this SuperCar, at both track events and local car shows. I was able to find 2 of the 6 remaining rear tires (and these were 2004 tires) in Memphis last October and have them installed, but, as I historically go through a set of rear tires each year, I find that there is nothing available in any of the warehouses to replace the ones on the car. Many others are down to nothing and are parked.

The owners of the 2005/2006 Ford GT cars are individuals that love their Ford cars, and they wish to show these superb vehicles to the masses of people who have (1) never seen them, (2) remember the famous "Ford GT40's" of the '60s, and (3) show the capability of the Ford company's engineering skills. Consequently, it is imperative that tires will always be available for this superb automobile. I hope you take this very seriously....Thank you.

Ralphy is much more elequent than I will ever be! Alternatively, can we all pitch in and take a Wallstreet full page add to send notice to Goodyear's CEO. I'll bet that will get their attention.
