Got a rock chip in my wife's X5, and State Farm wouldn't cover the repair (they used to just pay for the repair)
Last time I had a windshield repair, I remember thinking to myself, "I could do that."
So, decided to drop by Kragen and find out. Picked up a $9.99 kit, the only one they had.
Used the included push pin to clean out the fragments, cleaned it up.
Then attached the base with included adhesive, injected the resin, cured it in the sunlight, and voila!
Magic?
Not quite magic. It doesn't vanish, but the size was noticeably reduced, and the darkness and veins were just about gone. Plus, the crack shouldn't spread, so I think it met my expectations.
