Census Bureau Stopped By Today

Some lady buzzed the gate and asked to come in.
I said no.
She asked why?
I told her I did not know who she was.
She said she had a badge.
I told her that was nice and I had a badge too.
She said it would only take a few minutes.
I asked her if her car leaks any fluids that may stain my new concrete in front of the gate.
She said she did not know. I should have given her Kendal's #
I asked her if she has proof of US citizenship.
She said No not on her and what did that have to do with anything?
She said she'll come back at a better time - I think she was a bit irritated.
I said come back with a US Passport.

This was all on the intercom while I was watching her on a surveillance camera - I love my fortress.

Do you guys think I'm paranoid?

If they ring again, just tell them this is CA not AZ and you are not required to show proof of citizenship to anyone, even if they have a badge and that if they would kindly leave thier business card in the mailbox you would promptly report them to the ACLU!

I mailed back my census the same day it came in the mail. I did this so that they would not waist my tax dollars coming to my house. Last week they sent a census worker to my house to see what race I was. Seems I did not like any of the choices for what ethnic group I identified with and checked other writing next to it "American". The census workers supervisor wanted to see what ethnic background this "other "(American) is. I told her that I was sorry I answered the question. It seems that it is not OK to be American on the US Census.frown:bs:usa:screwy:

My mother-in-law worked for the census bureau briefly. Right until they told her that they were getting it done to fast and they need to slow down... so they they put two people on each house.

Yep, my 20 year old son has an entitlement program (me). My wife filled out the census since I told her I wouldn't. I don't answer phones without caller id, I don't answer any calls that aren't screened at work, and I refuse to allow uninivited salesman in my shop. I don't even record a message on my answering machine (which I never monitor)! I'm not paranoid because the aluminum foil I have under my clothes is keeping me safe. If you don't believe me call any time. :rofl

Isn't that a "racist" question to ask in the 1st place? And isn't it ILLEGAL to ask one's race or ethnicity on any PRIVATE SECTOR application form? And why is it we don't have a "don't ask, don't tell" policy where that's concerned, too? :biggrin

I have a home in aspen, two in phoenix and one in cleveland. I was at one of them in phoenix this week when the census stopped by. I have already sent in the form for my registered voting address. They are visiting every home I own to chase down the resident. I have gotten "census visited" notes taped to all of the doors at the other locations.
