The King of all that was cool!

Looked at the pics.

Good photos.

Don't know exactly why, but Chip Beck comes to mind when looking at them.

:usa

One good looking dude. He had an amazing life.

King of Cool

Steve McQueen forever!

Just watched The Sand Pebbles last night with my wife. Enjoyed it.

He lived at 27 Oakmont, in Brentwood, Los Angeles, three blocks up the street from moi.

Just compressed Bullitt on H.264 for my video iPod!

I never met him and yet the pictures and the memories that were stirred while looking at them made me smile.

I sense that he was an all around good person

Thank you

Shadowman

Best Buy had Bullitt on Blu-ray for sale the other day; 9.99. All I can say is it was awesome watching it finally on a quality set up. Oh yeah, he was Marine before his acting days but I do believe he spent sometime in the brig before being discharged!:biggrin

Great pictures and thanks for sharing. I bookmarked that website; Life always had really good photos. A few of those pictures made me wonder how many of today's movie stars would get caught owning and shooting their own firearms?

Everytime that movie is mentioned I think of how tough it musta been to cram that 16 spd Road Ranger into the Mustang he drove!!! I could not BELIEVE all the c-o-n-t-i-n-u-a-l shifting going on with it! 'Never heard of any another 4-spd with so many gears! 'Kinda reminded me of all the 6 guns in the old westerns that NEVER ran outta bullets... :lol

Thanks Atomic GT!

Ed, this is just 3 blocks up the street, between this place and me live Betty White, Mark Harmmon, James Garner, and Helen Hunt.

Just your typical neighbors :thumbsup

homes of stars

When we stopped at Woboose's house on the way to Rally II he pointed out his neighbor Johnny Carson's house. Nice.

Ed

PS The only star I live close to is Shadowman!

Or owning and driving an American made performance vehicle. :bored

.

Dr. Atomic, please send me an invite to the next block party.

block party with stars

AtomicGT - I'd like an invite also!

Ed

PS This is a McQueen King of Cool thread so here's a digitally enhanced photo of McQ from 1962 Sebring. He was a gifted racer & a true blue gear head!

Ha, I thought enhanced would have your head on his body or him in your GT.

I think the Mustang they used was a specially built Mustang and used a BMW gearbox; redline at 1K so that would explain all the shifting...:rofl

Sad but true.:frown
