winters are long and wet.

Isn't EP near Seattle? He never drove his car!

Not even close! He's actually closer to the Winter Olympics, for 2010, in British Columbia, than he is to Seattle. :banana

Beside we took his rights to drive in Seattle away from him. His car is way too shiny, the reflection was blinding the other drivers.:thumbsup

Stormcat...sorry I forgot Florida..that would be nice too. I guess that because the last 3 FordGT Events were in the West, I just forgot Fla..

Maybe we should all pick a place in Texas, buy 1000 acres, migrate there with Chip, start a commune, grow our own and drive everyday ??!! :)

Bummer, I drove with the top down on the Viper today. :thumbsup

As a former Pittsburger I feel your pain!! :willy

As a current California/Nevada guy I can say you are always welcome to our sun!! :cheers

my gt is put to bed in michigan as well but i am now in florida for several months. the roads in naples florida are not conducive to spirited driving so i left the baby up north. i also have not been encouraged about much track driving right here as sebring is rather rough and other options do not look optimal relative to road america or the autobahn where this car has exercised up north. however, maybe i am wrong. any advice from stormcat or other florida ford gt drivers?

There are a lot of open track days at Miami Homestead and Palm Beach Int. There are some curvey roads in the middle of the state : )

The best thing about FL is the income tax rate. :thumbsup

thanks stormcat i will look at getting the gt down here next time. i will also check out the tracks using a porsche as a test vehicle.

Andy,

I plan on driving mine to work Thursday........I will be thinking of you:rofl

Ps she makes great power in 55 degree weather. And yes I will be careful on the cold roads

Yeah...this beautiful, cool, sunny November has me re-thinking for next year.

up to 112 here this past May....worth it.

Raining here in Seattle area today but weather is usually good enough to take her out a couple of times every month - so she stands ready. Ed

Just after I wrote this, the clouds parted, sun came out and so did the FGT!

Andy,

Love to see you out here in AZ. I plan to move to Texas in 5 years and will spend the rest of my life in the Lone Star State. Someday, I hope Texas will be an independent sovereign nation once again. Let freedom reign.

Chip

What's freedom?

I'm with you Chip! Maybe I'll join you...

Yeah, its hard being here in the central/north east. :frown I'm hoping we will have a few more weekends of driveable weather before its time to put her away for good. This past weekend I did top off the tank, added Stabil additive and have the battery tender ready just in case we don't have any more driveable days.

Winter sucks. :ack

Remember the Alamo.

Chip,

What part of Texas are you looking at. I know a few of the guys from the Rally were impressed with the Austin area. I have a condo next to Lake Travis and am looking for a permanent residence there now. My son graduates in a year and a half, give it another year and I hope to be in Austin in 3-4 years.

Larry

Larry,

Central Texas, hill country, far enough from the Gulf so the salt air doesn't attack my airplane, far enough from the border so illegals don't attack my property, but that still won't be far enough from D.C. so our masters can't attack my freedom & liberty. The Alamo may once again be freedom's last stand.

Chip,

I hope your words are not prophetic!

Interesting comment.
The wife and I spent a few months in Alaska this summer and witnessed an ongoing debate about the control of the state. Many up there believe much of their problems stem from the fact they were a purchased US territory first then made a state. Thus over 98% of the land is Government owned and controlled by Senators from CA, NY, NJ, MA, MI, etc. Most of whom have never been to or care to understand Alaska's problems and concerns. Many Alaskans use Texas as example of the reverse, noting Texas was a Sovereign republic first then willing joined the Union. As I understand over 98% of the land is privately or state owned. Question, what if Texas just simply decided to "un-join"? Wouldn't that make for an interesting Supreme Court case?

It's my understanding that Breckenridge, CO was in such a position. It lies in between two small mountain ranges. The Louisianna Purchase covered the range to the East, and the Northwest Territory purchase covered the range to the West and North. They were included in neither. When their independence was challenged in Federal court in the '60's, the government claimed eminent domain.
