No surprise our GT's made MSN's list of 10 cars that will become future classics. Here is the link http://editorial.autos.msn.com/slideshow.aspx?cp-documentid=1102275&GT1=22021&vv=700

They have a Red one pictured on the intro page and a white on the description page.

There were some good cars on the list......and some questionables. For those too lazy to click here is the list.

Ford GT
BMW Z8
Audi R8
Corvette ZR-1
Viper ACR
Carrera GT

now here is where they lost me...
Honda S2000 CR
Toyota Prius
Dodge Magnum SRT-8
Cadillac CTS-V

Looks like they ran out of imagination at the end of the list. :lol :cheers

Wow, the only BMW that made it was the Z8, imagine that....

I like the R8 (owned one for a while), however wouldn't call it a future classic. They will likely be made in relatively high numbers and though quite nice, aren't a timeless design.

Agreed. However I could see the S2000 someday having a cult type following (out of production and fairly low numbers for a Japanese import) kind of like the old Datsun 1600/2000 roadsters. Prius?:confused

Wow Tom, you and I are on the same wavelength. Must be the birthdays, and hockey, and GT's........ :thumbsup I was about to post this myself, but thought I'd check to make sure it wasn't a repost! LOL. AND, I'm lost on the last 4 as well :confused:confused:confused

Good stuff. :cheers

No to the Audi, Prius (or any 4dr or economy car), Caddy, Magnum.

Yes Ford GT, ZR1 (if they don't overbuild or come out with a Super Deluxe ZR1 lol), Carrera, Viper, Z8, S2000.

My 2cents (and exacxtly what it is worth)

GT of course!

Carrera GT oh yeah.

Viper ACR maybe... people seem to want a lot for them now but...

ZR1 unlikely

The problem I have with both of those cars is you can buy into either line pretty cheap these days. It would be like if Ford made an entry level Ford GT RS that was $65k. It would be unlikely the high end GT would still fetch $150k when one could buy the same car at a different trim level for less than half. Thank god Ford didn't do that with the GT.

The rest of them I would not bank on. A new in the wrapper Prius 30 years from now will still be attractive to those poor lost idealistic souls that buy them today. That said it will still have a gas engine so it will be looked upon as a less than perfect solution to the zero carbon footprint utopia they strive for so on second thought it will probably be shunned. Whoever put that on the list is a short sighted idiot. Dream on Jordi!

I like the S2000, it might for a smaller crowd. Not anywhere like the A listers though.

BMW? Uh no!

Hang on to your Hemi Cuda's and Boss 429 Stang's...

Thank You Ford

Who needs to wait for the future?

My GT is already a classic.

It was a classic the day it was born.

Thanks to the Ford Motor Company and all of the people that made it happen.

I just love this thing.

I tend to agree with MSN on most of their selections, and thankfully, I own many of those cars.... but really, a Toyota PRIUS???? Say what?

Both those pictures of th GT look like pre-production shots.
If you look at the headlights they have yellow at the front leading edge.

S2000's have a really strong hardcore group of owners, but have fairly large production #'s.
Will always be popular but I don't think they will gain in value by a great %

Just my opinion.

I don't know about you fellas, but when these 'Best Of' pieces come out, credibility is lost when the writer makes blatant mistakes that indicates they didn't do their homework. Which probably means they aren't equipped to make judgements of any value.

The GT was first meant as Ford's birthday present to itself on the company's centennial anniversary. Three production prototypes of the GT were built for the 2003 celebrations, and a grand total of 4,038 production cars were built for model years 2005-2007, of which 3,596 were sold in the U.S. Powered by a midmounted, supercharged, all-aluminum 5.4-liter V8 engine that delivers 550 horsepower, the GT has been praised for its sharp handling and strong performance, with zero to 60 mph runs of 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 205 mph. The GT carries aluminum body panels over an aluminum space frame, with a shape inspired by the GT MK II that first won Le Mans in 1966. The new GT is 18 inches longer and almost 4 inches taller than its racing ancestor, and has all the comfort and safety accessories of a modern sports car.

1. 2005 - 2006

2. The shape is of the MK I. How could a Mark I be inspired by a MK II? Then to be more accurate, the shape was inspired by a Lola.
