First it was the squeeking of the belt and now I just discovered there is an oily film/residue just under the Whipple Pulley that may have contributed to the spotting on the rear glass. I looked through the small glass window for the SC oil level and it looks just a tad lower than it needs to be. Anyone had any problems with leaks from the Whipple just under the main Pulley?

Also, I noticed that the tensioner pulley has small lateral play in it when hot, but not when cold. Is this normal?

I've had the same leakage problem with the Whipple 3.4 on my 2003 Harley truck. A new seal behind the pulley corrected the situation and Whipple was ABSOLUTELY cooperative on the warranty part. Fortunately the supercharger did not have to be removed on the truck - as it must be on the GT.

My Gt's whipple causes minor oil splatter on the rear window from day 1 but I havn't bothered fixing it as of yet.

I have a new 4.0 and not had any oil leak issues or any problem on the idler, tensioner pulley. You may need the seal replaced and a new pulley bering. Just call them, they have been great with me on customer service.

I installed Whipple’s on both of my GT’s and couldn’t be happier. That said on my white GT I did have a belt chirp. A quick call to Shadowman and I fixed it in a few minutes by backing off the tensioner. What I’m trying to convey is that you should consider calling whomever you bought your blower from or had install your blower and find a solution to your problems. If it isn’t a problem that is easily fixed I’m sure that Whipple would be willing and ready to help you solve any issues.

I had the same problem, call dustin at whipple they are easy to deal with, he can send you a new belt.

That is nice, but the really issue is replacing the belt is a PITA and by far the hardest part in installing a Whipple. Therefore it would be most reassuring if the new belts just worked instead of being a crap shoot to whether they work without any issues. I don't know if I was lucky, but my Whipple and belt works great any issues.

Am considering buying a used whipple from another GT owner. Now have my doubts. Since I would be a second owner how cooperative do you think whipple would be if there are the same problems?

Not a big deal when the blower is off the car. Check with the owner and if a problem have the owner call Whipple for a seal and have master Mike at Polito replace the seal when he's installing the unit on your car. Enjoy the Whipple!!!

I had a problem with oil leaking out and spraying on the center glass. It would form a very light spray on the glass (and only under hard pulls). Whipple replace the pulley snout without any problems. What was interesting was that the oil leak continued after I installed the new snout for about 500 more miles. Then it disappeared. I also had some similar issues when I put a pulley on the stock supercharger.

If you think you would enjoy more power... then you can't go wrong with the whipple. The pros will outweigh the cons.

Have some spraying up on the rear window. Thought it was from the belt? Lots of power love it!

Windex.... that's what I use. When I change the belt - then I'll look at the seal.....

Whipple's rep and name states they will resolve. Try the over two name guy - lucky to get a return call........
