Right Hand Drive Ford GT!

amazing and, slightly weird (in a good way).

I'd love a right hand drive one (being in the UK), but have become very used to LHD. It just looks darned weird!

Great job.

Neil,

You should get one of these and add it to your stable along with your LHD GT... then you could go both ways!

Does that mean Neil would be bi? :lol

Wife has an Ozzie secretary, she is loving this as the real GT is right below her!

You can bet as Rob posted, that's EXACTLY what he meant! :lol

In fact, expressing an interest in a RHD GT means I'm bi-curious.

There must be maybe 6 countries that drive on the wrong side of the road, In the interest of vehical cost and the conversion price for special models you would think they would move over to the right side? Wish I knew how that got started

I drove a used postal jeep while in school, left turns were tough, but you could really hug the curb on right turns with the door open, and of course get you mail real easy. Of course drive through Mcdonalds was out

OMG!! Did anyone else notice that along with all the other changes, they even change the sweep of the windshield wipers!!

Guys that's my car!

Alex from T&A Shocks tipped me off about this post. I'm really surprised no one sleuthed it out that it's my car, especially given my avatar and the fact although it's been a while I did mention the RHD conversion.

Also, as my car has been the mule, I do get looked after on the conversion cost and my all up cost is *nothing* like what the promoted cost is in the article. In fact it will make my former SL55 look even more overpriced than it already was @$A380k.

Absolutely amazing. :thumbsup

OzGT, beautiful car and an incredible conversion. You must be very pleased with it. :banana:banana

And yes, $US350k for a SL55 is overpriced. :eek

Thank you :biggrin.

It was quite a wait since the car was purchased in July '06, but the finished result is definitely worth it. It also puts paid to what I told a couple of other local owners the quality would be like who didn't seem to want to believe it was possible based on feedback from some sources in the US who just plain wouldn't have been in any position to comment accurately on it.

There's no doubt my experience in owning a SL55 with a local price tag of $US350k was THE catalyst in my deciding that owning a GT here would be infinitely the better way to spend that kind of money(or in that case finance) on a luxury sports car.

:cheers

I sold my GT500 to these guys in December, the car is now in Australia being converted to right hand drive. There is a picture of another GT500 that Todd posted that belongs to Peter, who bought my Shelby. They do nice work. The conversion cost is between $50,000 to $60,000.
