Would it be wrong to have my GTX1 displayed at a Jet Port Reception for a Ferrari Owners Club organized event for Ferrari's and exotics and to place the book "The Ford that beat Ferrari" on the front seat?:eek

Or would it be more wrong to have it on the front seat at the Jet Port Reception and the car show the following day?:willy

if they asked you to be there, no it wouldn't be wrong. Also since it is an exotic display as you say I still think it would be ok. Put the book front and centre. All in good fun!

Glad that is not my problem, I would have a nervous breakdown :)
I would try to display in both areas... avoid the angst of going down the wrong path! :)

Shoot! I'd do it just in the hope it'd tick some people off! :lol

(But then, I'm a totally insensitive person anyway.)

Would it be wrong ...........

It would be wrong to deny them the opportunity to gaze upon your heavenly ride. It is your obligation...nay...it is your duty to to bring them out of their depths of self denial.

Dunno... surely if they wanted a Ford GT they could buy one no?

It really depends.. if they are all friends then by all means... But if you do not know any of them... that it could be quite emabrassing, as you really will not accomplish much.

'Not too sure, 'teo. "32" states the show is an, "organized event for Ferrari's AND EXOTICS". So it would appear from that the event is open to others, wouldn't you think?:shrug ('Doubt "32" would "crash" a Ferrari only event! :biggrin)

What say you, "32"?

('Kinda funny! "Ferraris AND EXOTICS"! SO, Ferraris ARN'T exotics, I guess?)

Sorry I have no idea of what that is. I thought it was a Ferrari only event... Then the FORD is the definition of exotic!

I don't know about the book, but for certain take the X1. Most Ferrari owners know the 1960's LeMans stories, but very few have seen an X1 in person. :cheers

Please ........................it's your duty to bring "the book".
Rub their NOSE in it. :lol :lol :banana

Just keep an eye on your GTX1...............:frown :frown :eek

you know how proud Ferrari owners are. :biggrin

If they are friends and have good senses of humor..well that is an easy one to answer.( Go for it)
However, if not , I do not see the upside...IMHO, I think you should take the high road and be the classy guy that owns that amazing car!
Enjoy...

Even though it seems like the "do it" votes have won. I think all Ferrari owners know deep down in their hearts that the GT is a Ferrari beater, so I have decided not to rub it in their faces. That is unless some jerk pisses me off and then I will whip it out. (the book that is).:cheers

Come in cmoody......come in.............

I'm not the most objective guy to ask...

OK, my Maserati has a Chevy engine, so you know how my vote would go...

Be around if the book is out, you don't want any mischief displayed on your X-1 by an angry Ferrari fan! :lol

Well I did it on the Friday night Jet port reception but not the car show on Saturday.

I only had one Ferrari guy make a comment. It was just a snobby remark that showed he really did not know too much about the Ford GT or even his beloved Ferrari.

I was not going to be with my car at the show on Saturday so I decided not to tempt fate.

I will post some pictures as soon as I get them. I have a good friend that publishes a local paper that had her photographer take some pictures of the book on the windshield.:biggrin
