While rummaging through an attic this week-end in a recently purchased house, a friend of mine came across the Sunday Herald Tribune dated April 24th, 1966. While thumbing through leisure section he came up with an interesting article worth posting. This is posted to a web sight and you may need to zoom it to read it, but it is interesting. Just as a note, on the same page within this section, a new Lincoln is listed as starting a $2000. Sorry i couild get the whole page. Feel free to download.

Nice find Dino! Today instead of the hidden switch - we had (past tense) the axle bolts. It's great to see that the new car has as much appeal as the original!

Way to go Ford!

Way Too Cool

Dino,

WAY TOO COOL.

That is one of the best posts I have seen in quite some time.

I like the statement:
“The reaction evoked by the car must be experienced to be completely believed.”

Some things never change.

Thanks for sharing.

Fred

I dunno......I'm kinda liking that Citroen. "Pnuematic suspension"....WOW!

But it is interesting that the public reaction could apply today just as well as 40 years ago.

Take anything from the 60s and multiply by 10.

Ford GT 18,250 to $182,500 a little high

gas 28 cents to 2.85

Housing 20,000 to 300,000

Health care don't get me started

Thanks for sharing. What a cool find and story.

Thanks for that post. It gets the same reaction today. What a car.

Yeah, but how many GT 40's were produced?

Thanks for posting! A very good read!

There's just nothing like a Ford GT. Not in 1966 or today. WTG Ford!:thumbsup
