    Transmission Oil

I just picked my 2005 GT from my local Ford dealer for its 19th annual service there. The master tech said XT-75W90-QGT oil has been superseded by XY 75W140 QL oil. Accurate? Input appreciated. BTW-39,000 miles. -Gary

    GT Coolant Hoses

I've had my '05 GT for 14 years and 35,000 miles. All of the service has been done by my local and delivering Ford dealer as per the maintenance manual. Does any member have any information about when to replace the coolant hoses?

    Rear Toe Link Boots

My 2005 GT is in at Dellen Ford for its annual service. The tech noticed that the rear outer toe link boots need replaced. Their parts department only has the rear outer link (with boot) available. Does any one have a FMC part number for these boots-or where I can get them? I did notice on an...

    Lack of Boost

When I took my 05 GT out for the first time this spring I noted a lack of boost and obviously lack of performance. The gauge shows 10 psi upon initial power application and then drops to less than 5. The car has 25,000 miles and has the FRPP performance upgrade. It is now at my Ford dealer and...

    GT40 Engine Bearings

I am having some engine work done on my GT40 in England. The crew working on it is having trouble sourcing rod and main bearings. It is a 302 with the crankshaft having XW7647 on it. The rod bearing shells read 967FM and C50E-4211A.B. the mains have 8A.67G and C50E-6333A.B. Does anyone have...

    Driving School

Last weekend I did a Porsche driving school at Mid Ohio in my GT500. I found that with the FRPP suspension and performance upgrade the car was remarkably easy to drive on the track and very neutral. On the downside, though, I had the stock Goodyears on with +2lbs. On a cold track and cold tires...

    Height

I had my Ford dealer install the FRPP springs, shocks and anti roll bars on my GT500. The car definately handles better but the rear still looks too high to my eye and it still gets wheel hop. What else is out there. -GWB

    Wheel Torque

I just had the 20,000 mile service done on my '05 (and another set of rear tires) at McCoy Ford in Muncie, Indiana. The tech nocied that although the front lug nuts were tight, one of the left rear lug nuts was loose and all 5 of the right rear ones were torqued a lot less than 100 ft lbs. I...

    Height

The suspension height on my 2007 GT500 is too high, probably two inches in the rear not as bad in the front. It also has wicked wheel hop off of the line. What fixes have the members of this forum found? I know there have been numerous threads on this but I haven't been participating in this...

Flames from the exhaust? Monogramed lug nuts? Next thing someone will want to know the best way to clean the brake discs. Oh yeah, someone already asked that. Neilda, maybe this forum shoud merge with the Aston Martin forum!

    Tires

My 2005 has 10,000 miles on it in 20 months of ownership. The right rear tire is worn to the wear indicators while the left rear has about 1/32" left. The miles are street with no track time. I am replacing them today with the original type Goodyears from the Tire Rack at $332.00 each. McCoy...

    Check Engine Light

The check engine light on my 2005 GT came on at 4,000 miles (Code P0455). McCoy Ford here in Muncie diagnosed it as an evaorative loss. Ford told them to install a new fuel filler neck which they did and reset the computer. The light came on 500 miles later with the same diagnosis (Code P0442)...

    Leather Care

My GT is 1 year old and ready for the first service. The manual says to treat the leather with a "premium" leather conditioner twice a year. The leather on other Ford vehicles is a completely different, very heavily surface pigmented type. The GT leather appears to be a semi-aniline type that...
