Yet Another Accufab X-Pipe Install, but that is not what this thread is all about.

First, thank you John for taking the time to talk - much appreciated. I took Midnight Blue's advice (thanx George) and arrived prior to sunrise. Parked the car and opened the clamshell and let her cooldown - it took a couple of hours. I have no regrets, my two sons are loving the WOT under bridges & tunnels - Orgasmic!!!

Major kudos go to Fred the technician that installed the setup. This guy was clean, fanatical and as anal retentive on doing the job right as I would - he impressed me to no end. He also installed their new license plate spacers. Thanks a bunch Fred!!!!

I also met John's mom - I think she is the brains behind the operation. Thank you all - Another Satisfied Customer.

Good move, I am 110% satisfied!

are they selling the license plate spacers? if so, please note how to order. thanks mucho.

No, not to my knowledge, however, I don't think you need them with the acufab system.

bony
did you have headers installed on your car?

griffbl,

Information on ordering the license plate spacers can be found on this thread. or by going to the Cool Tech LLC website.

No, stock manifold and cats, live in a bad air city and want to remain smog legal.

I've got headers (but stock mufler) and I'm waitnig to hear comments from the first guy with the headers/X-pipe combo before I decide...

Bony, I followed you south from Santa Barbara for awhile yesterday.....loved the sound of the Accufab. After hearing yours and Dennis' I'm ready to pull the trigger.

I am happy with the Acufab, no drone, drove 575 miles yesterday, and heard every word Mrs Bony had to say... :willy :eek :willy

that does it if I have to listen to my copilot I am sending this system back before I install it :)

Just kidding ordered mine last Monday and had it on Friday...man its hard seeing it sitting at the shop waiting till Saturday to put it on :)

We are going to do dyno's before and after as well too see what stock does now that its broken in..and see what the exhaust and tuner give us..thanks Bony its a great recommendation and John was a great guy to talk to...

I just called Accufab and talked to a guy named George. I asked him this exact question and his answer was that under full throttle the Accufab was louder than the Borla but at cruising speed his pipe was probably a little quieter but with a deeper tone. He also said there was no drone at cruising speed (I can vouch that the Borla does not drone either).

This doesn't satisfy me. I'm looking for something louder all the way around but still legal. I'm tired of making excuses when someone asks me to fire it up so they can hear it. They are not impressed either.

I guess I'll keep waiting.

The Accufab x pipe will satify your requirement.

TEXAS GT,

I too think the the Accufab is going to fit your requirements. I don't know why you want something loud at steady-state cruise. The Accufab makes a strong statement - much, much more pronounced than the Borla. I have the Ford Racing rear exit headers (no cats) and the smallest of mufflers and it can be REAL aggessive. The accufab is a bit more civilized but not too much so.

Accufab is the best all around.

I owned a few vettes including the Z06s. My o4 Z06 had the titanium factory exhaust set up. The noise level was high all the time after a while it became irritating. With the GT, my opinion is that it gives you noise on demand if you want it and a "Hear me and Respect me" when you fire it up. It does have a 2000 RPM drone effect which is easily avoided by accelerating or shifting. You will have no regrets.....

OK, OK, you've convinced me! I'll order the X-pipe Tuesday! Thanks for all the input. :biggrin

Well we installed mine today and did a tune from Accufab...OH MY GOD!

This is what the car should sound like from the factory...HOLY COW does this sound wonderful! and at WOT its nice and loud !
