Yellow check engine light on - running rough. Ideas?

'Bout sums it up.

Stumbled a couple times driving yesterday, then light came on.

Would run ok for a bit, then stumble again.

Turned off engine, then re-started. Light stayed on (unlike my BMW's that seem to self clear).

I know it could be a number of things, but your experience appreciated.

Thanks

Could be a lot of things, best way is to get an OBDII code reader to find out what the light is about. If you have an SCT tuner that can read the codes too.

Fuel Filler neck IF it was trying to die on you when coming to a stop light or stop sign. If it was just stumbling, next though would be bad gas. Your car is a simple pulley / tune / catback exhaust. Should not have anything to do with those simple mods as you have been running them now for about 2 years without issue. O2 sensors is another though, but reading the codes with an OBDII will tell you where to look

Also, check battery strap ground....low voltage tripped light once

Also, bad gas

Use your SCT device to read DTC in the vehicle info area. That will highlight what is the trigger.

Thanks all.

Runs fine at idle/approaching lights...

I'll plug her in later and see if that sheds any light.

Sounds like we need Rich and Dennis back this spring? Mine's got a noise I'm afraid are the half shaft bolts are broken.
Hope yours is something simple like the ground wire.

Rob

Thanks Torrie.

Perhaps.

Per the advice of the guys above, I checked the battery connections. The positive was fairly loose. Tightened and took a short drive. No stumble. Fingers crossed.

That issue potentially fixed, it appears my power steering pump is going/gone. Whining and leaking. Jason just had his done locally. Probably will do the same. At this point, my GT season is probably over in favor of driving some other stuff.

I'd be up for some upgrades if they come back.
