I'd be beyond pissed.................. how about you guys?

Before leaving the car with any shop load a valet tune to limit top speed to 25 mph and rpms to 2000. Of course that wouldn't have helped in this case since he was doing engine upgrades.

'Friend of mine was having lunch with someone at a local restaurant one day and saw his wife's lux-o car drive into the parking lot of same...which surprised him a bit 'cause that morning he'd dropped the car off at the local "Lux-o" dealer to get something cosmetic replaced on it and the car wasn't suppose to be ready 'til late that afternoon. Figuring the car was finished early and his wife had picked it up, he expected to see his wife get out of the car and join the two of them for lunch. Imagine HIS surprise when two mechanic types get out of the car instead and saunter into the restaurant and sit down.

Long story short, my buddy still had the spare keys for that car in his pocket ("why" he had 'em is a long story), so he went out to the car, "swiped" it, and (with his pal following him) drove it home. The two of them then drove back to the restaurant and he got in his OWN car and drove back to the office. Then he waited for the phone to ring! Eventually it DID, and the you-know-what hit the fan shortly thereafter...

(Luckily there was no damage done to his wife's car.)

WHAT ARE IDIOTS LIKE THESE THINKING??? :skep

Mike, can;t say this is the first post describing a dealer-shop trashing a car. We had a couple here if I recall.

Larry, that is funny and a sad comment on ethics. The shop owner take his girl friend out to lunch?

Very sad, but all too familiar.

Noooooooo...reread! Two MECHANICS took it. (Heads supposedly rolled on that one.)

'Friend of mine here in town had his 502 powered Malibu taken out for a 'putt' - IN THE RAIN - by a couple body shop employees because it "carboned up" moving it from bldg "A" to bldg "B" ( :skep) and they thought they'd best "blow it out". :bs Bob (buddy) caught 'em at it red handed as they were returning to the shop.

In any event, there's no reason I can 'figger' any shop even needs to "road test" fender work... which "after the fact" we've heard of this shop doing twice before now. :mad Needless to say, Bob's experience is related anytime anyone asks either of us our opinion of that shop.

I dropped my car off at a body shop some time ago, and removed the eaton's supercharger belt in the parking lot when I got there. Car drove fine at low speeds, and the body shop watched me take the belt home with me...

I slept great that night. :thumbsup

Dear Mr. Used to be Empty,
Since your garage is now GT'less you have adequate time to criticque every damn post we make:lol:bored:lol.. Didn't I hear on the radio that there is a freeway closed and need snow removal?? I can organize a fund raiser here on the forum to buy you a snow shovel:banana:willy:banana..
Or, if you need something to do, you could volunteer to walk precincts
for BILLARY:lol:biggrin:lol
Have a nice day...
God Bless America,
daniel

The only fair way to settle this is to provide the client with a full refund on the work (including labour and parts) and to provide him/her replacement value on the car. Otherwise I would sue like mad.

This shop was somewhat new around here, growing and did good work... Built a quick and solid reputation and it appears that the team there became full of themselves thinking they could beat the law of averages.... Shame that it happened but it was deserved. They could have done so much!

The business rightfully so is suffering. He will never get this stigma off him!

Lessons learned - you are accountable for your actions! ..............and as a car owner - don't assume anything - leave nothing to chance!
