That's the only thing I've seen posted that even sounds like it could be a rust situation.
(AlohaGT would seem to be the man to ask here!)
only the steel components will rust ... calipers, bolts, fastners etc. The aluminum will corrode if left in the elements or exposed to salt water/air. Happens all the time in boats ... the aluminum will weaken and in some cases electrolsis will come into play.
But the car in a whole body and all will NOT rust.

Any knowledge of protective floor mats available for the GT, just to protect the original's from scuffing, etc. Would want something attractive and not loose and floppy, to get hung up in the mechanicals whilst doing the twisty roads of Newport!

Many of us bought Lloyd's floor mats for just that purpose. But, there are others available as well.
