It looks like Romain Grosjean is still continuing his accident prone incidents. He had to sit out today's Italian Grand Prix as a result of the wild accident he caused at the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa. Grosjean, who twice wrecked the Matech Ford GT1 in practice at the 2010 Le Mans 24 hour race that was attended by a number of FordGTForum members, caused great expense to the Matech team by using up most of their spare parts prior to the race.

He's had a couple back luck incidents, but the Spa incident was definitely all his. He's lucky, because he nearly decapitated Fernando Alonso in the process. Bummer because Spa was a great race otherwise.

It's been a very exciting F1 season this year.

Tough lesson. But you need an intact car to win a race. That is what makes Alonso such a star. No matter how bad the car he nurses it along (in the grass at times) and and gets whatever he can get out it without crashing. I think his trick is he likes his cars to understeer a bit so he has to nurse it through the corners.

True, and if he had, he would have to HIDE for the rest of his life. Europe loves Alonso, Monza was amazing after the race.

When Alonso didn't get out of the car for a bit I was standing up. Scared me for a minute or two.

Another exciting qualifying session today. Grosjean almost bit it again in a wild slide. There was an incredible amount of cars hitting the walls at the track. Tomorrow should be a pretty crazy race, not because of overtaking, but because it's looked like virtually nobody can stay off the walls and keep from jumping the massive curbing.

This season is getting it done from the excitement perspective. The stretch run looks like it'll have lots of drama.
