Whipple 1/4 mile preformance

1/4 time is just 1 of many, many ways to express a cars performance capabilities.

You won't see much less than a 10.5 on the tires the car comes with. I would assume a whipple car will trap around 142-143mph, but unless you get better tires on it, I wouldn't be surprised to see 10.8-11.0 because you simply can get the car off the line.

Are you saying you don't believe my 1/4 mile time? :frown :frown

Very true, but it's the most talked about.

I personally didn't buy my GT as a dragster. I bought it as a road race car. I can't recall any historic GT40 used as a dragster either. It's much cheaper to build a sub 7 second dragster.
Bravo. I am with you. But, of course, it's America, and 1/4 mile is a bit like 'hey, mine is bigger than yours' entertainment.. :biggrin

... Jerry's must be Awsum. I have no doubt, no matter what the time/length is... :thumbsup

Hmm.. LOL

the GT-40's engine block however went onto bigger and better things including Top Fuel Dragsters and dominated. The engine produced 8000+ hp.

I know to damn much about this car lol! :cheers

hey no problem, no foul, it's the journey not the destination, after I run a great 60' time, I stop for a MAKERS MARK MANHATTAN or a LEVEL MARTINI to catch my breath and proceed to the finish like a gentleman,.... but still in the ten's

I prefer a PLYMOUTH G&T before I cross the line :biggrin
