Wheels for the GT!! What to do??


I'm not really sure what to think. I know guys with other cars run such small sidewalls and get away with it. There are also quite a few GT owners running 20/22s and I havent heard any complaints. I wouldn't think of 22s on any other performance car but the GT pulls it off pretty well.

I would be keeping the stock BBS wheels with Hoosiers for any "spirited" driving.

If I stick with 19/20, I am leaning towards the Monobloks. I wish I was good at photoshop because no one with a GT has them yet.

I am all over the place.

I am with you on this one -

I'm thinking 19" or 20" on front and 20" on back - especially as I've just discovered Pirelli are bringing out a new P Zero Corsa tyre in 335/30/20 size (along with a 255/35/20 for the front) for the new Aston One-77 - should be perfect for the GT (as I'm not overly impressed with the PS2's on the CGT)

.....my fear of 22" is that it is "style over substance".........and nobody makes decent rubber in the required size???

Also wish we could get a photoshop of a GT (pref Red!) with Black monoblok HRE M40's on it!!!
 
I wish HRE would make 20/20 Monobloks for the GT (maybe they will). I know they do it for Mercedes, Aston Martin, etc but they stick with 19/20 for a couple of other cars.

Any news on when that tire comes out? Honestly, I'd rather have these than the PS2's as well, but as of now they only have the 345/35/19.
 
HRE said they would also do a 20x9 front if anyone is interested.

The rep said the 2 available styles are M40 and M47.

We desperatley need someone to photoshop some 20" M40's - onto a GT - pref Black wheels on a red car!!!!

Agreed - but I think we won't see the Pirelli's being widely available until the Aston has been out for a few months.

My car is at Roush next week for suspenders.

J Byrd, at one time ShelbyElite had a set of the BBS in chrome. Contact him. Been out in your car yet? I'm heading up Rt 3 to Godfrey tomorrow.

California Chrome Wheel Inc. (661) 294-0170 Has a photo in their gallery of a set of BBS wheels for a Ford GT that they chromed. they look like a nicely done job.:thumbsup

So we are looking at $9500 for the larger set with tires.

Wonder how much these would cost in the USA???? Anyone know?...or know of an HRE dealer we could get a price from?

I'll be up for a set dependant upon price....maybe we'll get a better deal for 2 sets? I am Trade so maybe I could negotiate a Trade discount?

The wheels have a MSRP of $6000 for a set of 20s all around. Tires are probably 1500-2000 I'm guessing.
