What is the RPM at the Top Speed?

she's a witch, she's a witch - burn her!

............ how do you know she's a witch???????? well, she looks like one!!!

............ a long comparison enuses.................. thus confirming she was indeed a witch.

horsepower and speed calculations are sometimes theorized using the same monty python holy grail method.

...good stuff...
They didn't need a shift to get to 60mph if I remember correctly (regardless of what it says in the record text or elsewhere). It was done on a 'helpful' surface though ;)

Porsche gearbox usually doesn't make it to 60 in gear 1.

Cuda's right, I'd be at 8200 rpm at 60 with my G50/52 using stock gears. Now the GTR720 may have taller gears which will get it to 60 in 1st, but I don't know that for sure.

Beautiful car, have you timed a 0-60 run?

Thanks. Not yet, but I will. I'll report back when I do.

Thanks

Ahhhh I see........ says the blind man
A GT made of Balsa wood and a 5hp B&S engine and a 500# flywheel hooked to a Snowmobile drive clutch could break the speed of sound:rofl

Love bench racing! :)

Paul:

If you talk to Richard at Ultima, they did all of their runs starting in 2nd grear. 1st is too short.

Chris,
I didn't realize that. Thanks for the tip. I wasn't getting how they kept all this power down. In my car at 50 mph if I squeeze the throttle in 2nd gear, I break loose all the time. All I can figure is that 1st is for going slow in traffic.

PM sent.
Paul

Both of these cars have been a real joy!

And, for those who love to crunch numbers, like a few posts earlier here, feel free to crunch away on these- Check out the 0-272 mph in 3.0 seconds-
and the 0-323 mph in 4.5 seconds.

It is great to see another GT and Can AM owner here. I love them both.:cheers

For the first 1/8 mile, the car average acceleration was more than 4 g's. Four times greater than the gravitation pull exerted by the planet earth. WOW

I so wana join the family, been looking at the gtr's for awhile, but can't find anyone in town that has one that I can go look at, sit in, maybe even go for a ride. Im willing to trade a ride in the gt for a ride in the gtr.:biggrin
