I am going to TT my GT and wanted to hear what you guys have either done already with your TT setup or what would you do if you were doing a TT upgrade.

so far I have done:

pulley
tune
exhaust
air filters

things to do with the TT:

clutch
remove cats?

what else to add to the list?

I've done the clutch, and the cat removal. I'd also consider the Stillen 3.90's. :thumbsup

I also did the Stillen clutch; hoping it holds up to a lot of street abuse. I'd rather not have to try the Spec.

I decided to do custom exhaust out the back without cats.

Fuel should be ok up to 1050rw or so. Torrie is running almost 1100rw on stock fuel.

Tranny and rear end should be fine unless you are thinking about putting slicks on and drag racing.

Gears are sort of a personal preference thing and your goals for the car. I like the long time in between shifts on the highway.

You will probably need an aftermarket MAF but whoever is doing your kit should have that handled.

Boost by gear - I don't know how the different TT system manufacturers do this or not. Heffner did say he had TEXAS GT's car set at 700rw in 1st gear and 1000rw from 2nd on. I am also doing a boost by gear setup so we can run a different amount of boost in each gear. And I plan on having street tire/93 octane settings (maybe 12, 15, 18.....) and a Hoosier/c16 setting (15, 24....).

we are doing the larger turbos that put out 1200whp.

fuel system will be upgraded

are you staying with the stock longblock?

planning on revving it higher than 7000 or running more than 23-24psi?

would be real interested to see how everything works. so far, it has either been the 850-1000hp kits or the all out kits with built motors like Joe's red GT and a couple of Ray's GTs. highest i've seen the stock motor pushed is Torrie's car.

stock block from what I can tell. Hennessey said we will just install larger turbos, fuel injectors and fuel pumps in addition to the other stuff that is used in TT setups.

more than 24psi? I don't know.

it will definately have a boost controller. pump gas and race gas.

I am NOT going to the 3.90 gears. I want a high top speed for the October Texas Mile.

Good luck with it. I am interested to see how it turns out. Like I said, Torrie's 1089rwhp car is the highest I have seen on a stock motor.

I was just thinking, if the Texas Mile is around the same time as the Rally, my TT, and perhaps the Whipple will be there also! :biggrin

Hey don't forget my car was setup like this for the majority of its life and I am about to hit 33k miles with her. Its fun having the long term TT test bed.:biggrin

:thumbsup love it 33000 miles of 1100rwhp on a bone stock motor, can anybody think of any other car out there that could make this much power with a bone stock motor? doubt it. if they could it would be for a week!

John will take care of all the details like exhaust and cats. Just make sure you upgrade to the Stillen clutch or you'll be tearing it apart again after a few hard passes. Get a short shifter kit if you don't already have it. Lowering the car might help with aerodynamics at the higher speeds but you don't need shocks, just the T&A lowering kit. Don't waste your money on brake upgrades, the stock ones stop it fine from 220+ and seem to be holding up fine. You can change to upgraded rotors after you wear out the stock ones, which you will if you do as many passes as you did this last weekend.:lol

What was the total, 16?

good stuff Texas GT.

Yep, I did a total of 16 runs in the GT. :)

Are you going for a top speed record? I think 6th gear's top speed is 254 or so. You may have to take in to consideration wheel expansion at those speeds. I would definitely enlist some advice from Streetking.

I think you might have caught the bug while you were at The Mile :thumbsup I can't wait to see what a GT does when fully pushed. I'm tired of the Poopra's being the fastest cars all the time. :biggrin

254 in a GT in the mile?

The Supra guys can have the Big Dog award, I am shooting for the GT mile record (until someone else breaks it after me). If someone else beats the 223 that was laid down last weekend then I will shoot for the Texas Mile GT record (much respect goes to Texas GT). ;)
