Get 1/2 a car... :biggrin Here's the newest edition to the Moose family. Mr. Moose bet me that he could wash and dry the car in 10 minutes or less - including wheels. So of course I took that bet! And lost :ack
He was so proud of himself, I had to snap this picture...

Luv it. It may look small, but it holds 40 clowns :lol

What do they get for mileage and how much are they? I have seen a few driving around in NY.

EPA is 33/41 or so.

Base price $11,590, the upraded coupe is $13,590, and the convert is $16,590. Or so the story goes...

how much does that weigh, how long is the wheelbase and how much gas does the tank hold? oh yeah and one more thing.....how many cylinders and litres is the motor and how much HP does it make? i saw one in red yesterday here in Tucson.

The crystal ball sez... 61 cu in, in line 3 cyl...70 h.p. ... wheel base 73.5 inches ...8.7 gal fuel tank ...1,808 lbs to 1,852lbs depending on 'model.

(That'll be $1.50.)

I've gotten 44 in mixed driving (meaning 1/2 in town and 1/2 going 70+). I just know if I can just keep my foot off of those squirrels I can get 50!! :thumbsup :biggrin

Don't you feel a bit like the bullseye on a target when driving it down the freeway (you mentioned 70mph)??? :ack :willy

Mileage bakeoff

So, lower mileage than my '05 Prius. So, besides perpendicular parking, what's the point?
(Sorry, it is really cool looking. Just surprised that it's not the mileage leader).

Yep, a Prius gets much better mileage and holds up to 5 people and has a good sized trunk. I think it can also go faster than the 90 MPH of this cars. However, I don't know 1st hand and would never drive that fast, especially in a Prius. Safety first and foremost.

The only downside of the Prius is the cost is much more than this car.

if i wanted a lil car that got good gas mileage i would go for one of those lil porsches like James dean had or get a Lotus Elise. otherwise i would just make my Yamaha V-max a daily driver or my Turbo Kawi.

A V-max or T Kawi might be a lot more fun, but a Prius still gets more MPG!

A Honda Civic holds 4 people comfortably - 5 not so comfy...'has a spacious trunk with wunna those "pass thru" rear seat backs...gets 30/40 EPA...and costs $17K.

Given the cash outlay between the "stickers" of the three cars ("Smart", Prius, Civic) vs. their fuel milage, etc., I'd say the Civic is the 'more gooder' choice $$$ wise all things considered.

But, mebbe that's just me...

I suppose I'm more of a target when on my motorcycle (of course it has more HP than my Smartcar).

I am curious that you said top speed is 90? I thought it was limited to 80-85. I tried to find out today. Hit 80 but had to back off....the bugs I was hitting seemed to be slowing down the car. :rofl ...never found top end...:frown
