Use of the word "limited" Heritage paint

I rad some press release that said Ford was calling the Gulf Ford GT40 paint scheme a Limited Edition. But my defination of "Limited" is that you first have to state how manyyour are going to make, like Ferrari saying "We will make 499 Enzos" or whatever. But the only thing limiting how many people can order this paint scheme is how many people check off this box when they order their Ford GT. Or am I being picky because, with a limit of 3000 cars before they shut down the line, the whole car is a limited edition?

Picky in Pittsburgh (not really in Pittsburgh, but I am picky)

Supposedly you may ask for that paint, but you may not get it. They will only (again supposedly) only make a limited number of cars with this paint job and if everyone asks for it not everyone will get it. Luck of the draw.

By definition it will be limited. Ford can only produce 10% of the cars in Heritage Colors. If you figure they will be at 1800-1900 cars for 05' that leaves 1400-1500 cars that they can make in 06'...let be fair and call it half and half or a little more lets say 2000 in 06'...that would still limit you to 200 cars in Heritage Paint! and its a first come first serve...if they reach capacity for the month...you pick another color.

Seems kind of limited to me :)

Word from Ford is that there will be 100 limited edition Heritage Livery cars built. There was an initial lottery of dealers who had orders in the bank for the heritage edition cars. Glad to finally find a forum dedicated to the Ford GT.

Welcome Neil,

I heard what 427Aggie said, as able. I suppose that could be only 100 cars.

I was encouraged to order the Heritage Livery and understand there is one in the FHQ garage and it is quite striking. I decided it is just too much. If I were only taking out on the track, OK but around town, etc. I prefer the Tungsten, which is what I ordered.

I have a Heritage on order that should be here any day. Excited is not the word to describe how I feel. Thanks for the welcome.

Wow congrats! You must be excited. :cheers

I thought the Heritage is only available on 2006 models and I thought they don't start building the 2006 until Oct 31. Is yours an 05 or 06?

Mine is an 06. It will be a very early 06 model year car. It is built and at the shipper as we speak. Any day now.

I was at the plant a few weeks ago and they had some on the line. Here's a photo

Wow! Well they must have switched over early. Now waiting until January is going to drive me crazy. I should of sent my order in earlier. As of 9/12 when they called me to select complete my order I was told the switch over wasn't going to be until 10/31. Anyone know about the change?

What number are you going to use on the roundel? That is going to be a really hot car. :thumbsup

Very Nice. It looks like there is two Heritage's in a row. any idead when they switched over to building the 06's?

thanks for the photos

We were there September 12, 2005. They had about 3 or 4 on line if I remember right. I'm not sure when they started on them though. They were in the begining stages of construction.

This year at Concourso the GT in Gulf colors had a 2006 vin# and it was #1

BONY - I missed this years event. Heard it was another good one. How often do you drive your GT? Do you live north or south of where I live.

white - blue
I live North of you, by several city blocks :lol
:biggrin I pass your house every day to and from my home, I live on the street that is the last legal left turn off your street before you down to the golf course. :biggrin in Lakeview

The Concourso and events that week in Monterey have to make it the best car week in the world. Lucky to have it in our back yard.

I've been told all 2006's that have been built to date are pre-production models. The official 2005 production end date is scheduled for 10/24 and official 2006 production is scheduled to begin on 10/31.

I am expecting a VIN and build date by the end of the week. I believe production is at a rate of approximatly 9 cars a day. As shown on eBay orders are in for well over a hundred already.
