Guys : which would you buy..new Boss LS or a '96 Viper GTS in showroom condition with 8000 miles?

Appreciate your thoughts.

I vote 96GTS. It wont have the performance of the LS but it is a timeless classic.

viper ftw

2013 gt500!

2013 gt500!

+1000000000000000000
She is an absolute beast!

What is your purpose for the car(s)??
To me that determines specifics to provide a more clear decision.

Like Shelby said...2013 GT500...absolute beast. I'm a Viper owner, but a Gen IV with almost 700 crank HP. I'm not a fan of the old style GTS body, albeit I was nuts about the car when they were new...

Viper ........pure adrenalin ...unique styling, very few on the road...easy to mod....inexpensive to own....still the best deal out there.. I can go on and on IMHO

96 GTS. I Still kick myself for selling my 96 GTS. A beautiful timeless design. Also blue with with is stunning.

The viper will leave you with a breathless day. No nannies. You're driving with your skills. The 2013 GT500 is wicked too with power but it'll fix up your mistakes before they become fatal. I don't think either will disappoint you. I prefer to be close to the street. Thus the GT.

B2 LS. Any stock american small block that will rev to nearly 8 grand is ok in my book.

Have you considered maybe something more classic?

Renault MAXI Turbo for example... ;) It's a french version of a F40 !!!

Guys: Thanks for the responses.

I thought about the '13 GT500 but I already have the '09GT500KR and with a TVS blower I can have that beast at over 650hp plus there are only 1500 KRs and my is 1 of 200 in red.

I can buy the GTS for way under market. I can put Belanger headers, a Borla, performance springs, Heffner tune, Forged wheels and Michilens still under what I can buy the new Boss for. The GTS has been in storage for a number of years (part of an estate) and has only 8000 on the clock.

I still love the Boss too though.

Decisions decisons.

Purpose is really car shows, cruise nights, cruising and as my son says Dunkin' Donut runs.

Then you should go for the Viper !!! GTS looks better and better for each day that passes by. What color does she have?

Boss LS. Last year you can buy one new. They are only new once. Used Vipers will always be available.

GTSweden: Blue with white stripes.
Sinovac: I know!!!! You are killing me because you are right about that fact. Yeah, I know this is the last year for the Boss but the but the Viper GTS came in blue and while only in '96 ...right???? I can pick up the Viper for $35,000.00. I don't think I can lose at that price. Agree?????

I think the '96 Viper GTS value could actually go up in years to come as a classic. No??? I actually think the Gen I and II body styles for the Viper are the nicest and coolest. Beautiful. Very Cobra/Daytonaesq.

The Boss is fantastic but to an extent it's lime light has been cut off by the ZL1 already. In the next few years Ford will likely come out with the next greatest and latest.

Decisions decisions.

+1 !!! :)

If you don't plan on tracking this vehicle, then I'd go with the GTS. The true fun/calling of the BOSS 302 is it's incredible abilities as a track car.

The real mate in the stable would be another FGt

The problem with old cars is they drive like old cars!
