I did my first Track Day with the GT over at Capital Raceway.

I ran 11.9 @122.90 with a 60ft of 1.95,

I was on Stock everything, except for Ford Exhaust muffler. I was pretty happy with for my first day out. The track temp was over 95 degrees, and my temp never went over 190, with cooler weather, and better tires and more seat time, I think I can get into the mid 11's, we'll see.

GT @ the Track

Thanks
Milton

Milton, with a little more seat time you can get that baby down another .5 seconds. pd

could you post the movie in a file format that media player can play? I can't get it run with quicktime for some reason. Thanks

Did you ever track the 06 Z06?

Nah, only had it for 3 months, trade it in for the GT, could keep both, no garage space, if not would have keep it.

Milton, Nice run! How do you compare the ZO6 to the GT?

You'll get 11.6's easy in better weather. It's unreal how much weather saps the life out of this car. With 123mph at 95+ you'll see 126+ 15-20* cooler. I saw 131.5 on the G-Tech in the 60's, which should be at least 127. On the same road my Z06 would turn 129 on the G-Tech and it routinely went 126+ at the real strip...

11.9 is awfully quick for a car with leaving the line rather slow and easy shifting. We need to keep the perspective. The fastest I went (before the GT) was in a 1963 Corvette in the late 60's. Ran 12.07. But, with slicks and low gears, launched at 5000-5500 and powershifted (remember those days?) at 6000-6500. To run 11.9 on a run that your wife could do (no offense :biggrin ) is damn fast.
