My 2005 has 10,000 miles on it in 20 months of ownership. The right rear tire is worn to the wear indicators while the left rear has about 1/32" left. The miles are street with no track time. I am replacing them today with the original type Goodyears from the Tire Rack at $332.00 each. McCoy Ford in Muncie is going to mount and load force balance them while the car is there for its second oil service.

I am curious to see what mileage other owners have gotten on their tires and other tire choices chosen.

I had my back tyres replaced at 2400miles..... :biggrin :biggrin The front was still like new, I wonder what happened.. :eek

After I had them replaced and balanced, next day i was back, because the tyres slipped 90 degrees on the wheel. Too much torque, and I was deliberately taking it very easy.

Might want to watch out for this. Also some good breakin ride is recommended, to get good life. Hoosier has some good advice on their website, for reference.

I'm at 7,000 miles now and the rears are just about down to the wear indicators. I have one track day on the street tires.

I'm at 5,000 miles and just about to book it in for a service. I'll change the tyres at this time simply because they won't do a further 5,000 and it's a pain (an expensive pain) to get the car to Roush. I would think there's 2.5k left on them - however I'll still get new ones.

It's been driven 'enthusiastically'. :biggrin

Stefan, maybe the shoes you are wearing are a bit heavy. Try some lighter driving shoes maybe. :wink

Rocket,

right now I do wear lighter shoes, simply because the roads are damp. But in the dry, it drifts so nice, I can't resist and I had to do sooo many demo rides here you can't imagine, it was real work........ :banana

I also think the European asphalt is different. That might affect wear aswell, to my defense.. :wink

The first set went away at 4000mi. The second set has about 3/32+ left with 9100mi. on the car or 5100mi. on the tires. I too went to a lighter shoe.

So - no thoughts about suing Goodyear because your tires don't last?? Aren't you aware that there are several starving lawyers out there? Perhaps you and your low-tire-mileage buddies are just heartless and ignoring their plight. Shame on you guys!

I know you're joking, but these days some low life plaintiff attorney might just take this on. God I hate those guys.

Yes they can be a pain - if everyone were honest and noble we wouldn't need them. But like any other tool, they can be useful at times.

Most Lawyers are blood sucking leaches which are also like nuclear weapons; when used they F#%k-up everything. Winners fine a way and losers find an excuse; or they hire a Lawyer to make one up for them. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

seems like a reasonable one to me... I concur with you mate. :thumbsup

The key is that some asshole "hires" the lawyer, or forces someone else to "hire" a lawyer. A lawyer isn't working without getting paid. If our planet was stocked with less assholes, most lawyers would be out of a job. :mad

So true, expect for the lawyers going after a company that had shares prices fall, class action suits and ambulance chasers. Did I leave any out?

BYW, my respected for lawyers went up alot after having to use a boat load of legal services, some of due to some other assholes.

I know many good lawyers, and Lord knows I have spent a lot of money on them for contract work and M&A advice. The problem IMHO is our F'd up tort system. If we just had a "loser pay" tort system like the entire rest of the world we wouldn't have the abuses that we have today.

As long as our legislature and judicial branches of government are made up predominantly of lawyers we will never see our tort laws change to correct this problem. What ever happened to "checks and balances"?

You've said it all, take a look at Europe, anybody can sue anyone, but looser pays costs and puts up a bond to prove that he is worthy. I am sickened by the tort system, here on the left coast our worker's comp system is so out of control that is crushing entreprenuerial spirit. Oh by the way, just bought a company for pennies on the dollar because their workers comp rating went up in 65cents on the payroll dollar. :bs

Bony & Florida Chris, you guys are exactly right. One of my best friends is a lawyer, and thank god, as I have had to use him a few times. But I wouldn't have had to if these other pricks knew they were going to have to pay all my costs after I kicked their ass. It's definitely the system that allows jerks to abuse it. That's why I don't sue anybody that I am all but guaranteed to win (forced to sue with no other option to be made whole), and I don't settle unless they give me damn near everything. For the same reasons, I don't give in when sued, and never settle. I have taught more than a few lawyers and companies attempting to sue me that I cannot be intimidated into settling a frivolous lawsuit. That's the only way I can help in my small part of the world when it happens to me.

I have told my lawyers, that I pay to answer suits, take depositions, and appear in court, and not negociate or talk with other lawyers. My normal legal work feeds many households, but I assure you my counsel doesn't make money on litigation. Like you, I avoid it like the plague. I go apeshit when I see lawyers bill twenty hours before lunch and then spend the afternoon on the course. Oh by the way, I have six partners, most of the have their J.D's and some are admitted to the bar. But accept for one we are all beer, wine and liquor merchants.
