Fellas, I'll be running the GT in group open track in Vegas this week at Spring Mtn as part of the Shelby 50th bash. I have new Bridgestone Scudera's on the car. Any advice on tire pressure for these types of tires for running open track?

Check out this thread on Bridgestones and tire pressures. There are probably many more if you check around. In fact, it's the optimum tire temperature you are looking for and what pressure delivers such under specific conditions that day.

Of course, air temps will have to be factored in reading this thread.....it was 95+ at TWS when were were there at Rally 4.

Mike,
Here is a thread regarding tire pressures/temperatures for Hoosiers. While not Bridgestones, it gives you an idea of optimum tire temperatures of 180-200. Perhaps someone with Bridgestones can provide specific tire temps for them. I suggest you buy a tire thermometer to use when your track you car. It is extremely helpful in setting proper tire pressures as the day and track get warmer morning to afternoon.

Thanks a ton for the info, great stuff. Wheels up to LA in 2 hours, meeting 150 Shelby's and other cars and then off to vegas

I was all signed up and decided I couldn't trust the weather going from the Denver area over the mountains towing the car. It looks like I guessed wrong on that but the job uncertainty and a Grand Canyon trip for 3 weeks in July are keeping me from both the Shelby 50th and an advanced racing class at Bondurant this spring. We'll have to see about the Rally.

Glad to have helped Mike.
Have a great time, be safe and take some pictures for us!

The Hoosier tech guys are great when setting their tires up for the track or road. The tire pressures are dependent on the tire type/size, weight of car, type of track & suspension/alignment specs. The pressure should be set while cold but should not be changed dependent on ambient temp (I guess unless there is an extreme ambient temp change?). It's also not a good idea to reduce the pressure as the tire warms up as the cold pressure should be low enough to allow for heat induced pressure increases. The camber should be adjusted if the tire temps are not close from inside to outside of tire surface not the pressure. There should be a Bridgestone tech that you could speak with or; if not, perhaps you could speak with the Tire Rack tech.
