Tint or No Tint

Taking a poll and want to see how many have the rear window (on clamshell, not bulkhead) tinted.

I have side windows and read window tinted. Cant decide if removing rear tint will look funny.

Dont think the tint does anything for engine temp. When I am at a show the clamshell is always open. Driving around, it's hot anyway.

What do you guys think?

i don't see window tint on race cars....

I would be concerned that when the tint is removed the rear defrosted wires can be damaged. Also the install will likely have air pockets around the wires.

Driving the Ford GT I think you need all of the visibility you can get with all the crazy's trying to get close to you. I don't care for tinting on the GT. That"s my 2 cents.

1+ Tinting makes it harder to see outside when driving at night. I wouldn't do it. Also, if you tint, you lose the bling of people being able to see you driving this wonderful symbol of Americana.

If it's for aesthetics, pass. Not fitting on a GT, IMO. If it's for heat rejection, then there are plenty of non-tinted films that can achieve the same desired effect.
As far as removal, Clinton may be right. But my guess is heating the film enough would decrease the chances of damage to the wires.

I can't show off my shiny Whipple blower with tint and I can't even see while backing up now...so no tints for me. LOL

I tinted the sides and part of the clam. I have no trouble seeing at night, and the interior is noticeably cooler after sitting in the Bama sun. I've removed tint before, there is a solution that you spray on that gets the residue off easily so I'm fairly confident the defrost wires will be OK (although I'd like just to scrape those wires off as I don't plan to ever drive in snow). No bubbles are visible in the tint.
